So, by the looks of it, we may have another line of episodes all airing in production order?

No, not really. This season, HABF02 aired before HABF01. The closest we've had to a full season of episodes airing in production order starting with the first episode was season 6, 14 episodes with 2F01 to 2F14 running uninterrupted.

As for just episodes in consecutive order, there's 11 in Season 14, from EABF07 to EABF17, and 11 in season 4 from 9F05 to 9F15. Last year we had eight from GABF01 to GABF08, interrupted by GABF12.

So this season we've had episodes HABF03-HABF05 airing consecutively. And if HABF06, 7, 8 and 9 do too, then that's six. But there's still some way to go before FOX airs Simpsons episodes in the order they were produced. By the way, who decides the airing order? Do the show's makers get a say at all?

I think the producers get a say in it, but Fox decides. If I am wrong, someone please correct me!
she didnt exactly read shrek the 3rd, which apparently exists as some sort of companion book for a pixar movie. no, this would probably take several minutes (perhaps 10), and would have ultimately depricated the shrek 3 cinematic experience

she merely looked at the book

she saw it, perhaps in the childrens section of a barnes & noble, registered it in her mind as being in existance, and filed it away for later as the subject for a post on BOOKS YOUVE READ. only she just looked at it. and it was shrek 3

in a way its the saddest post ive ever read

I think Bill and Josh said in a Q&A that the order is decided by the showrunner/s.

EDIT: Yes, they said that: http://www.nohomers.net/showpost.php...0&postcount=15

Yeah, I meant consecutive order more than production order when I look at it. The beginning of the HABF line didn't air in order but I mean from HABF03 on.

Wait, when does "Homer Simpsons this is your wife" air? I'm excited about that ep. I have a feeling there will be many laughs!

These new episode descriptions please me - the Gervais episode sounds better day by day (who will voice Charlie's son??) and TSNES seems like it will be an interesting and experimental show, to say the least.

I'm actually glad of the changing of method that the current Simpsons crew have embarked on - different styles of episode such as "Simpsons Christmas Stories" where the format used for THOH is applied to another holiday and the use of a guest writer in Gervais can only add to the diversity to the show.

If these episodes fail though people will complain that trying new things is lazy and that the current episodes are repetitive; if they succeed people will applaud these new dynamics and will undoubtedly compare them to episodes from Oakley and Weinstein's run.

I never expect any episode to be better than others and I never like to compare episodes any more - I take each as they come and judge them for their individual merits. Season 17 (so far) has been pretty solid with only a few minor hiccups along the way in my opinion.

I've got a bad feeling it'll be Tress McNeil once again doing her same old kid voice, possibly a bad English accent to go with it.

Gibbles, turn that frown upside down! I don't think it will be Tress. (I don't know why, I just have a feeling it isn't going to be her this time).

    She'll be his wife instead.

It's kind of strange that they hire an additional male cast member in Karl Wiedegott or however you spell it but never got another female cast member to replace maggie roswell. I know the reasons why but it's still odd.

Who does Karl Wiedegott do the voice of anyway?

  15. #1935

I think he does almost exclusively bit characters...offhand I remember reading that he did Jimmy Carter in Behind the Laughter. But I don't think he has any "characters" really, in terms of recognizable recurring ones. If you look him up on IMDB you can get a feel for the kinds of characters he does.

I think Tress gets too much hate. It's true that it gets repetitive hearing the same voices over and over, but I think that comes down more to the producers not bothering to get anyone else than anything. A new Roswell-type who can do lots of bit female voices would probably be a good addition to the show at this point.
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

The question now is: being a Tim Long episode, who DIDN'T expect something like this?

Million Dollar Abie - what could have been a really good, plot-focused episode about Grampa considering suicide - seems to have been wrecked by turning him into a matador. I'm not sure about this episode anymore. The only other episode of The Simpsons to have bull-fighting was Pokey Mom and that's one of my worst episodes. Oh, well...

this looks rather bad, really. it's probably not going to be as awful as some of Long's other scripts, but I'm not expecting great things.

So Grampa becomes a bullfighter. That's ... interesting. I don't really know what to think about this one. I don't especially dislike Tim Long's episodes but they're certainly not my favourites. Having said that, with a Grampa-centric plot I think it's got potential to be good.

That sounds absolutely fucking dreadful. I have nothing good to say about that whatsoever. It sounds like a total shithole of an episode.

The part about becoming a bull-fighter is questionable. If they picked a better job for Grandpa, the episode would sound more exciting.

I wonder if the Commish will look like Paul Tagluibule (sp?) or like Texan/Duff Owner ?

Bleurgh! That sounds horrible. I don't even want to dignify it by saying anything else.

Maybe just me, but I reckon the episode sounds quite entertaining!

Who is 'Manfred Manslaughter'? Is he a character made up by the show (I'm presuming so)?

I highly doubt that an episode about a character wanting to commit suicide could be good. But him becoming a matador is hardly better
