Well, you guys this is not nessecarily going to be as bad as the standard Marge and homer quabble-quibble. Out of all the things we have heard and seen, there are many things that will happen in this episode:

    - Chicken Pox Party thingy
    - Milhouses parents get back together
    - Marge Homer fight . . . sigh
    - the religous event (the scene with all the black people in the backround, and Homer is saying he can walk again)

So a lot to happen, and the fight could be in the last few minutes, but Milhouse realizes he has done wrong, and he sets things straight by telling his parents. So either way, I probably won't be happy with the final result, but, hey, it is the simpsons, anything can happen. It could be that at the end Milhouse tells them he set it up, but Luanne or whatever her name is decides she liked being single better. Besides, as people have been saying, it does have a very good author, so, here is hoping for the best.

Well, anyone who is living with Homer would have a hard time not kicking him out constantly..

    :P

It looks to me like this episode's pasing will be terrible - I'd wager that the pox party takes up most of the first act and the Homer / Marge conflict takes up most of the third, leaving the most interesting part, the Kirk / Luanne part, being stuck in the middle act. I hope not, but I think it might.

This episode sounds almost as bad as Bonfire Of The Manatees, now. Why have they ruined such a great sounding plot with the same old Homer/Marge breakup? But they are actually using the exact same formula for the split AGAIN! Homer criticizes Marge, then offends her, then gets kicked out. If they have to do another break-up episode, why don't they at least use a different angle by having Homer kick Marge out for once? They have used this same old plot time and time again and to be honest, I'm getting sick of it.

Come on, people. I think it sounds good. Okay, Homer and Marge have an argument, Homer's out of the house again, but it has enough novel twists to make it fresh. It's just a description but I believe there's a lot more potential for comedy here so even if the plot is hardly original, we might well be laughing our socks off not to care about that. And yes, couples do argue and split up, it's not that unusual.

I can't be the only one who's anticipating the episode, can I?

Well we all were until we got to this angle, couples don't usually split up every week, they may have arguments but no splitting up, my mum has never kicked my dad out of the house or vice versa. There's been a few very funny episodes in recent years but I don't think anything has been consistently hilarious throughout without any flaws so I doubt I'll be laughing too much to care.
and as Dances in Underware puts it, it's surely going to have pacing big problems, think of all the plot points,
    -Maggie get's chicken pox
-Homer decides to capitalise on this
    -Scenes From the Pox Party
-Kirk and Luanne get back together
-Millhouse realising he's actually not so happy with this
    - Devising the scheme to break his parents up again
    - Homer finding bra, questioning marge, getting kicked out
    - Bart tries to get them back together
    - They get back together
    - whatever happens to kirk and luanne

10 plot points, 20 minutes of storytelling and I doubt I've got everything, I'm not sure that's sufficient time to develop each point in a belivable way and explore the humour in that, it'll probably be very fast and generic plot driving dialouge because they have to spend so much time getting through the story.
If I'm wrong and it's very funny engaging episode then I'll be very happy to be proved wrong but I really don't think there's any reason to get my hopes up.

That sounds really good, I hope that's what's going to happen.

No, you're not. I think it has potential also.

I'm really looking foward to this episode.Every new bit of information I have heard has made me anticipate this episode even more. I don't believe any Homer and Marge splitting up storyline will ruin this episode unless it becomes a big focus in the storyline.

Based on what I've been seeing, I'll make some predictions on the upcoming episodes:

    Marge's Son Poisoning
Bart starts spending time with Marge, making Homer jealous. He leaves Marge until she can be a better wife.

    The Italian Bob
The Simpsons learn Sideshow Bob is the mayor of an Italian City. Meanwhile, Homer makes fun of the way Italians are, and Marge gets mad at him and refuses to speak to him for the rest of the trip.

    Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bangalore
Patty and Selma kidnap MacGyver, and Homer gets mad at Marge for letting them do that. They fight and stuff...

    I'll stop there.

that's ridiculous, they wouldn't have Homer leave marge, Obviously Marge leaves homer because he has a couple of Beers at moe's for 15 minutes before coming home or something, and that's why Marge fights with him and starts spending more time with Bart.
It's resolved when Homer promises to only have one Beer at moe's before coming home.

it was meant to be a ridiculous joke. homer will leave marge because she accidentally runs him over with the tandem bike while bonding with bart.

I don't think "Bonfire" and "Sand and Fog" will be THAT similar. In "Bonfire", Marge gets mad at Homer for doing something (a la Mobile Homer), while in "Sand and Fog", Homer gets mad at Marge for no real reason (a la Three Gays of the Condo).

Marge's Son P sounds quality. I just really hope it's done right. This episode has the same sort of pre-anctiptation as Sleeping With the Enemy just before it aired in 2004.

Looking at the GAB lines I expect this to be the next episode after THoH, so it could well air on the 13th of November.

Where does it say that "Marge's Son Poisoning" has anything to do with Marge and Homer splitting up?

The description of the episode is:
Bart finds himself spending more time with Marge (with the aid of a tandem bicycle) until bullies accuse him of being a "mama's boy."

Boy, some people really like to jump to stupid, useless conclusions.

No Marge kicks homer out, presumably because she's insulted Homer would even worry and be suspicious about the bra in kirks bed.

"Joking" usually implies that something funny was said.

With the good reviews over "The Girl who slept too little", season 17 could just be better than season 16.

    Why?
Why would one well recived episode mean season 17 could be better than season 16, Season 16 had well recived episodes too ?
What's more TGWSTL was part of season 16's production season and written before 'Bonfire' it's not like this episode would be the marking of a new gold standard and the quality won't ever drop again.
