Hmm, really? That sounds pretty cool. What magazine is it? And since you're here I'd like to say I'm really loving the huge 3000x4000 images. I hope we get to see more of those in the future.

Well, I guess I'll post stills of the promo (in two posts, because apparently I've exceeded the picture limit), and Jerry P. can post the clip if he wants:
"I'll be your campaign manager!"
"And I'll find out what a mayor does!"

Kent: Kent Brockman, here with “The Simpsons” new season update. Homer is caught making adult snuggle films… (Scenes are shown of Homer, Fat Tony and the film crew in the kitchen and in the living room, setting up a shot with two female actresses dressed in astronaut’s outfits. Cut to Lenny and Carl walking in on this.)
Carl: What is this, a reunion of “Fahrenheit: 9 on 1”? (Cut back to Brockman in the studio, where a clip of Homer in a lizard costume at a podium can be seen.)
Kent: … town idiot runs for mayor… (Cut to OFF’s family room where Homer and Lisa sit watching TV.)
Lisa: I will be your campaign manager!
Homer: And I’ll find out what a mayor does! (Cut back to Kent in the newsroom, where a clip of a large church service can be seen.)
Kent: And a religious revival sweeps Springfield. (Cut to Homer in a lively church, grasping at his leg as he walks down the aisle to Marge and a sickly Maggie.)
Homer: Praise the Lord, I can walk again! (Cut to Marge giving him an angry look and murmur.)
Homer: What? My foot fell asleep. (Cut back to Kent.)
Kent: If we don’t hear it first, it’s news to us! The Simpsons new season begins Sunday, September 11th, on the only place for all-new episodes: FOX!

I don't think Maggie's allergic to black people. I'm thinking that they are at a faith healer, due to the way Homer's grabbing his leg. It looks like a parody of The Blues Brother's scene where Elwood and Jake find religion.
THIS HAS BEEN A FILMWAYS PRESENTATION!

Here's the big promo, courtesy of Jerry P:

Thanks for the promos Binky and VN, for the pics.
I'm thinking the religious/healing clip is GABF22 Last Of The Red Hot Mamas.
Why is Homer in a fish costume?

You don't like them? I think they're great too. First, just to be able to look at them. And as said, they could make good wallpaper (it's hard to find any made for higher than 1024x786).Originally Posted by Jukka

Oh, really? I thought for sure it was from the upcoming subplot in which OFF enlists the help of the local Klan branch to do some ethnic cleansing in Springfield after Maggie contracts the Nubian Lung Flu when exposed to a bit too much racial diversity in her daycare. But maybe I'm wrong.Originally Posted by Wasteland
Thanks Jerry and Binky.
"See Homer Run" is going to be TV 14 (according to those pics)? Man, this show is getting...uh...naughtier. Sorry, couldn't think of a better word. I don't really care too much though, as long as they don't get too carried away with language or violence. It used to be that the show was pretty much suitable for everyone, with the exception of a few bad words. Back then, Homer didn't get his hand in the paper shreader or his heart torn out.
I'm not wild about the huge promo images. They're too big to see anything, and it's not like there's "secret pictures" in the closeups.
"There's a couple of things they don't teach you in Harvard Business School. One is how to cope with defeat; the other is how to handle a shotgun. I'm going to do both right now."

I just uploaded the longer promo for Bonfire of the Manatees that Vox whad posted screenshots of. It's at the same place:

Hey, btw, anyone notice how gay it sounds when Don LaFontaine (or whoever the announcer here is) says "our husbands"?

Not all of them will be. The Simpsons won't become that raunchy.
well from the ads ive seen it looks like most of them will

This indicates that the September 18 episode will be "The Girl Who Slept Too Little."
There'll also be a repeat of "Don't Fear the Roofer" at 7, a slot which I suspect will mostly have Simpsons episodes for a while -- it's officially for a rotating series of "animated repeats," but all of last season's KotHs are going to FX and all of last season's FGs are going to DVD, so...
Thanks for the info. Unlike everyone else, I've actually been looking forward to "The Girl Who Slept Too Little" since we heard about it.

Good - I'm looking forward to The Girl Who Slept Too Little. It should be a lot better than Bonfire Of The Manatees. So there'll be one more episode on 25th Sept, then a break until 6th Nov?
Actually, almost everyone has been looking forward to that episode from the beginning.Originally Posted by E-I-E-I-Moe

Oh . . . well . . . I have been excited about it because it sounds like a really original idea, and Lisa episodes almost never fail imo.Originally Posted by Homer_Thompson
Personally I'm not so worried about the writing credit as I am about the episode's plot sounding a little too bad-fanfictiony (as I think Vox said a while back when we found out the plot). It's a shame that the first two episodes of the season will likely be two of the episodes I have the most doubts about...well, at least they didn't group the Gervais episode in with them as well.
"The Girl Who Slept Too Little" could surprise me though, which I don't quite see happening with the premiere. But I just think the plot sounds iffy, and probably hard to pull off well.
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

Confirmation that GABF16 The Girl Who Slept Too Little will air on 18th September from: www.wvah.com/schedule
it's slotted for run over from NFL Football so if it goes long or OT it won't prempt a new show or delay the start of others
