do some more that was funny
do some more that was funny
Ugh, can't say I'm looking forward to this one. And funny how a Marge episode is advertised as a Homer episode yet again.
why is this a Marge Episode ? Homer does the movie and is with the mob and chases to get here back from Alex Baldwin
Well I gather from the episode description that the Homer/Mob thing is a sub-plot which acts as a catalyst for Marge moving out and the subsequent development of her bonding with Baldwin. Plus the promo image and the title all point towards the Marge relationship being the main focus of the episode, yet that advert focuses almost entirely on Homer (and being hit with a hammer, oh joy).
adverts always focus on homer. or bart.
two examples:
lisa's substitute advertised only the bart sub-plot.
last tap dance in springfield advertised the short "plot" about homer's eyes.
It actually makes me sad that that was so hilariously accurate Jimbo.
Man, this episode looks awful.
i think it'll be ok, actually. not sure about the guest spot, though.
Season 25 Ratings
Awful, probably
thanks Vox for the transcript. It is said that Fox really deems simpsons as "The Homer Show", and that that is the only way they will get people to toon in; it's very sad. Also, I really wish they had started with the Girl Who Slept Too Little as this season's premiere because it was so original, and it sounded really interesting.
No, I think it is that it is a very recycled plot that is wearing very thin, and, in my case, anger that they did not start with The Girl Who Slept Too Little. I don't think it has anything to do with the guest star. I just think that that one would have been a much better place to start. Also, i think people are pissed about how the previews only show Homer nowadays instead clips from the episode involving the haracter that is the focus of the episode. I remember that Brother's Little Helper was advertised as the scene where homer takes the medication and goes crazy, Blame it on Lisa was advertised with the two of the kidnap scenes involving Homer, and She of Little Faith showed homer firing the shotgun at the church, marge saying it was the worst thing he ever did followed by homer blowing her off, and then Homer talking to Lisa the the little dancing santa thingy. It really pisses me off.Originally Posted by grissom
And they also focus on pain gags most of the time, too...the preview looks poor, but that's probably just FOX choosing the worst moments as usual. I hope.
Another uninteresting fact: The animation looks distinctly like in odd numbered episodes, but it's an even numbered ep (GABF18). It happened last season with She Used To Be My Girl, FABF22.
A tribute to Bart Simpson
You think THAT's bad? What about that time when I was turned into a Tetris block?

Looks like that same Argentenian Simpsons website got ahold of super high resolution images of the promo cards:

They look amazing, and I'd really love to know how they get these, in such high resolution, and before any other website, or any media outlet for that matter. Maybe someone here who speaks Spanish can email them and ask?

At least this gets the worst of the season out of the way quickly - this is the only episode I can't see being very good.Originally Posted by MattG_Fan

pah, I got my first look months ago and although I cant reveal my source an informant who I shall refer to as Ricky-G let me know that he... that ricky gervais was going to use the simpsons as an opportunity to get as far away from his brent character as possible, he also gave me this exclusive cell... and hummed the accompanying theme music which I shall try and recreate for you in text form...
Uh ah uh uh uh uhhh
Uh ah uh uh uh uhhh.
I dont know about you but I cant wait!

Yes, I know that. But the fact that a fan website, and a non-English one at that, can get such high resolution images before any other website, newspaper, etc. seems very strange. I don't think Foxflash.com, FOX's publicity distribution website, even allows non-US members. Besides, they only give access to people from actual major news outlets, and that Argentenian Simpsons site certainly isn't one.

shit.that's like the third time someone's posted that
didn't see it in the first post

Is he really? I don't recall ever seeing any posts from someone with that username.
That's not surprising, consideering that he has only written 23 messagesOriginally Posted by Binky

Cool, thanks.

Here it is folks. The first promo of the season. It would be nice if they had done one like last year, where they showed clips from episodes months away, but I guess we're not going to get that this year. As for this promo, I think it's the first one to feature FOX's new visual identity, which looks really nice. The "spinning cube" logo they've been using for the past couple of years is no more.

Btw, I'm going to be editing in links to these TV promos and promo cards on the first post of this thread to make them easier to find. However, I probably won't be able to record that many TV promos this season.
EDIT: Well speak of the fucking devil. I was just flipping through channels and caught the last few seconds of what looked to be a promo for the upcoming episodes in season 17, just like they did last year. Boy, I really hope someone recorded it and can share it here. It just aired a few minutes ago. I did manage to get those few seconds if anyone wants to see it, but it's pretty useless:

As far as Simpsons content, that first promo is a shorter version of the one shown on Sunday. The second one was a 30-second spot for the new season. It wasn't the super-long one with episode titles and everything. I could post the clip, but I'll yield to Vox as he seems to be mad at me...

But, upon inspection, it appears I never sent that PM (?), so I'm sorry. But by all means, post the clip, I'm eager to see it.
Oh, and apparently a bunch of other PMs that I meant to send to other people never got sent. I think I wrote them, and then... well, after that, I'm not sure what happened. But if I owe you a PM, I'm sorry.
Edit: Binky, the layout of that little page you set up for the clip is awesome, BTW.

Heh, well glad that's all resolved. Now let us get back to the issue at hand and see this clip
Thanks Vox! I try my best.
Okay, I'm working on it now.
And since we're off topic now anyway... I screwed up taping Thank God It's Doomsday and cut off the end. I got most of it in the repeat, but they did spit screen credits. If anyone could hook me up with an audio clip of the special theme, I would be very, very grateful.

I found the promocards in a toilet of a bath of fox![]()
Really, I work in an animation magazine, here in Argentina, for USA client
