I don't think I'd like to see her get married to MacGyver, as she already married an actor - Troy McClure, but maybe a meeting between MacGyver and Patty/Selma would be good.

Sideshow Bob was an actor too. Selma dates washed up actors and rich guys who lost all their money. You might say she's a... Chevy Chase-r.Originally Posted by Simpsons Forever!

Actually, that didn't really make much sense.
Maybe the THoH features a wacky Simpsons SG-1 parody. That would be whack. Or maybe, Anderson will just play himself on a Information Video, like so many celebrities did in Season 16...
i think it could well be a classic, although recently we have been lacking top quality episodes needed to do this last season their were 3 great episodes, for a classic - around 8 need to be very good, saying that last season we didnt have a one out of five, which is a first i think - so with a few more classics i think its possible - THOH is the easiest to make a classic, if they reproduce the form on it like they did with the ned zone last year - we will be in for a treat.Originally Posted by Drunk Barney

Wow, it's been a long time coming for Anderson to be on the show. In fact, I'm surprised he was never asked before (maybe he was?) Now all they need to do is convince Andy Griffith to do Matlock.
And hopefully S17 turns out to be great, which is what I say every year. I personally thought that S16, while still having a few bugs, was very good and was an improvemnt over S15...again just my ker-azzy opinion.

I wonder if there'll do anything speical for this years 365th episode. Groening has always said he'd like to get it to there so you could watch one episode a day for a whole year...

probably not.

is the title 'marge's son poisoning' a parody of anything?

A play on Sun Poisoning, something you get from over exposure to the sun.Originally Posted by SideshowTim

I just hope they don't continue the trend of wasting the guest voices, like they did with Jason Bateman, Ray Romano, Charles Naipier, and all the other guest voices in season 15 and 16 (with the exception of A. Brooks). But you know they will waste Richard Dean Anderson if he is playing himself.
THIS HAS BEEN A FILMWAYS PRESENTATION!
Ray Romano was wasted? He had a big role in Don't Fear the Roofer.

You'd think his appearance would have something to do with MacGyver, right? If it doesn't I'll be very disappointed that Jean let the opportunity go by.

Okay, we get it, Carolyn made a mistake. Stop talking about it, it's getting annoying.
Ok. I'm not looking forward to Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife since it sounds almost exactly like Mommie Beerist and pretty much every other Marge/Homer episode. But I don't know, it might be original in some ways, let's hope so.

I wonder if they will use Richard Dean Anderson to turn Patty straight? You know they will most likely do a Patty gay joke around his appearance.

We know partially what it's about, so we can spectulate partially on what it's going to be like...
Yeah speculating irrationaly and making overblown reactions to tidbits of infomation is what this thread is all about.
Quite interesting idea! But I think that they'll keep her gay. We'll see!Originally Posted by Wasteland

I hope Richard Dean Anderson has a big part, and acutally comes to Springfield. Not some stupid video, because having his interaction with Patty and Selma would be far too good if done well. I wish they would do another appearance like by James Woods in Homer and Apu. I think that was one of the best guest appearances. He did not dominate the episode, but played into the plot. He had a great share of funny lines, and it was believable, well, for Simpsons believability. I don't know what they will do, but there has to be a MacGuyver(SP?) joke!
They also need to focus on Barney more. He's finally been coming back this season, but we haven't seen him enough. Whatever happened to him and Homer being best friends?
I basically just remembered Barney even existed in the later series, there were heaps of episodes which focussed on him and Barney.Maybe the producers thought that Barney episodes wern't as funny as they originally thought.....Originally Posted by E-I-E-I-Moe
I think season 17 shouldn't be so overrun with famous guest stars, alot of the time (not all cases though) it can down the quality a heck of a lot.

Barney will always be funny!

Barney might get off the hook 'Drunk Barney'. You never know, he could start burping out of his ass.
The writers seem to think Lenny and Carl are more interesting, and I used to really like them too until lately since they're replacing Barney as Homer's best friends. In one of the commentaries somebody said that a lot of new writers actually hate Barney.Originally Posted by E-I-E-I-Moe

How could you hate Barney?
I know that's not Kevin Curran however. He's the one that brought him back for I'm Spelling as Fast as I Can and then re-used him in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. He also had a short scene in Don't Fear the Roofer. Ah good old Curran
Burns and Price have both used him too. I wonder which new(er) writers hate him?. Carolyn Omine perhaps?
