Sometimes copyright entries don't include the writer. But if Tomacco has already said it's John Frink, it most likely will be.

Glad to see some updates in this thread!
At least! It was such a good title, I would have been sad to learn that it was actually a rumor or a speculated title...Originally Posted by Binky

But I'll try to stay warned about the fact that we already had quite bad Sideshow Bob-oriented episodes, and especially that "Sideshow Bob Roberts" episode focusing on Bob becoming mayor, which sounded so dull to me, for an episode being from one of the best seasons of the show...

Didn't Roger Meyers confirm that as the title a while ago? It's been in his title parodies thread for a long time. I don't know where we get off not trusting him about this stuff.

It was confirmed about a month ago, but now we have the Production No. too, so our first HABF! I like the title - it's simple and sums up the episode nicely. I'm looking forward to seeing Sideshow Bob's return.

Schedule news: Simpsons is pre-empted by The Lost World on Fox on 3rd July.
*Sorry for the double post - I thought it would join my previous post.*
He did and we should trust him. but let's not forget he (she?) seems to be ashowbuisnessy, hollywood lawyer, there liable to be shifty corrupt liars.Originally Posted by Vox Nerduli

I only went by what I saw on the first post of this thread, so if it was confirmed over a month ago, someone forgot to add it to the old Season 16/17 Information thread.

And Frink wrote The Great LD (alongside Payne),...
Hopefully that was just a dud. I'm worried with the Frink writing credit...
Season 25 Ratings
Awful, probably
You don't have to worry. We really have very little info on it, and a Simpsons episode isn't something to worry about (well, at least I don't waste my time worrying about them).
I do hope this episode centers around Bart more, like Cape Feare. The last two (maybe three; I haven't seen Brother From Another Series in a while) haven't really focused on Bart and Bob a whole lot. Well, maybe Day of the Jackanapes did, but I sort of saw it more as Bob trying to kill Krusty.
"There's a couple of things they don't teach you in Harvard Business School. One is how to cope with defeat; the other is how to handle a shotgun. I'm going to do both right now."
It's not really worth worrying about the Frink writing credit, he's had one episode with a solo credit, and it's not as if you can really draw any conclusions from BMB about his writing style or ability, The only presumptions it could be fair to make about some writers are that Tim Long likes the 3rd act have a wacky or dramatic conclusion and that Ian Maxtone Graham like to write on the run stories. and even this should be taken with a grain of salt.
I dont think any writer can screw up a Sideshow Bob episode though.
She?! He's just kidding, Mr. Lord!Originally Posted by Homer_Thompson
Wasn't it actually Tomacco who confirmed that title, not Rog? Or is that just me failing my coping with senility class?

That's what I thought...
Silverlimit what about The Great Louse Detective. He's not great in that episode...
Tomacco got the "tip" first, yeah.Originally Posted by Butters

Yes, Tomacco got the tip, then Rog "confirmed" it in two seperate threads. I can understand why Binky waited until now to put it in the main topic, but everyone else was acting like the title was some new piece of information. We had no reason to doubt Tomacco's mention of it, but Rog's should have basically made it official.

His opinion on the Simpsons. Rates it as number 1. I really am going to be intreeged by his episode, one thing that is certain- it will be funny!

Interesting to see that his top 5 are all American.Originally Posted by Drunk Barney

I still don't know If Gervais is all that great, I find The Office to be a little overated, natrualism isn't funny in and off itself, and his work outside of that is shaky, nothing else he's done is very memroable and his stand up is pretty bad.
Although from that description he does seem to have a fully rounded appreciation of the show.
( Jon Hillier that's your cue to come in and say when you met him he seemed very nice)
Richard Dean Anderson sez: Simpsons guest appearance COMPLETE

(I forgot, was it already confirmed that he was doing the show?)
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

Forgive my ignorance, but...who's he?
Actor. MacGyver actually. Check IMDB to see if he's done anything notable (I honestly don't know much about him).

MacGyver! That could be interesting...

well t-t-think again dude...it's MUCH easier to screw a character up rather than to decide what the perfect thing for them to say is...Originally Posted by Silverlimit
personally, i am really sick of these sideshow bob episodes...
let's see:
7G12 Krusty gets busted
8F20 Black Widower
9F22 Cape Feare
2F02 Sideshow Bob Roberts
3F08 Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming
4F14 Brother from a different series
CABF10 Day of the jackanapes
EABF01 The Grape Louse Detective
HABF02 The Italian Bob
That's nine...
Oh, and if McGyver IS in an episode, the episode is probably about patty and selma, unless it's a VERY small cameo...we had separate patty and selma eps last season, too...

So what's everyones predictions for Season 17?
Same sort of Season, but maybe a touch better?
Or a shock Season on the same quality as 8?
Or Worse than 16?
I'm going for the first one, but really hoping for second. Hoping for anouther classic episode, hopefully more than 1 (this years being Sleeping with the Enemy)
Anderson is probably playing himself, unless P&S win a tour of the MacGyver studio and take OFF...
I think 17, judging from what we have so far, will be onpar with 16
Probably a bit better than season 16. I just hope they phase out Homer injuries in every episode, and no lines about him masturbating or stuff along those lines.
I'm not looking forward to The Italian Bob. The premise could work, with the vacation being a backdrop. But face it, The Great Louse Detective sucked. I hope he actually serves more of a purpose here than he did last time.

Yeah, MacGyver and Stargate SG-1. Dan Castellaneta guest starred on SG-1 a few months ago and perhaps that's what gave Richard Dean Anderson the opportunity to be on The Simpsons. It would be great to see another Selma getting married episode, this time to MacGyver.Originally Posted by DotheBartman
