Sort of random plot, but still very funny. The PBS people chasing Homer down the street alone is enough to make me crack up laughing. 4/5

A very strange episode that has some nice jokes in the first act, and some in the start and the middle of act two, but I think it drops in quality by the end of the second act, when the fighting in the casino breaks. Homer gets a little better in act three by building the chapel, but then we have that silly ending with the episode being interrupted by the pledge drive just as Homer and Lisa Jr. are about to be killed. I get the joke behind it, but what with the episode had already done, some deus ex machina could possibly have fitted in just as well. I dislike all these Scully-era episodes that concentrate on Captain Wacky - the only parts that take place in the Simpson home and/or with the rest of the family are the first few minutes of act one, then a few brief scenes back at home in acts two and three. Come to think of it, the Bart as Homer subplot got two scenes, and the family overall got about four or five. 3/5

5/5 or 4/5 probably the latter, its one of the few episodes since season 11 which just make you laugh, like rosebud.

Never ever compare this episode to Rosebud.

I really don't enjoy this one too much. It's not a candidate for "Worst Episode Ever" but it's not too far. The entire first act was outlandish and just dull jokes mocked at PBS pledge-drives, albeit Homer had one or two good lines. The "Jebus" thing is probably one of the most overrated jokes from the entire show's history. Act 2 was very dry, too, with Homer's lines seeming really forced or just plain and not funny. Bart's sub-plot was very poor, as well. Him playing Homer's role could've been fun, but we only saw two poor scenes that were about as believable as it be to see a pig telling you that his friend the dodo was promoted to police chief. Act 3 didn't pick up much either, with the same type of forced and poor quality jokes and a renegade plot about Homer building a casino and then a church. We close with an unsolved plot with Homer and Lisa Jr. about to be burnt alive in a pit of molten lava, before we get back to PBS. Homer's characterisation wasn't too bad, but he was very boring to watch, and his scenes tended to drag for a while without any decent jokes. A pretty bad attempt at a Religion-themed episode, and a very overrated episode. D+

Brilliant start with the piss take of British tv and the Seseme Street characters. But then when Homer gets shipped away it falls downhill. Licking toads? etc. 3/5 And thats only for the first act.

Very good episode! But as Nameless has said although I get the joke behind the last bit(the pledge drive), it was a bit stupid. Overall, very funny, good plot, and one of, if not the, best episodes of Season 11! 9.5/10

I actually quite liked this episode, and the fact that it's S11 material just makes it fit in that much better. The pledge drive ending was thrown in (as a matter of fact, I believe act 3 of this episode is the shortest act in the series ever), but other than that I thought it was very funny. My favourite part is Homer comfortably numb after not not licking toads. 4/5.
Bart: "Please don't call our parents!"
Chief: "I'm afraid I have to for hijinks like these. Hijinks - it's a funny word. Three dotted letters in a row."
    Eddie: "Is it hyphenated?"
Chief: "It used to be, back in the good old days, you know. Of course, every generation hyphenates the way it wants to. Then there's *NSYNC! What the hell is that? Jump in any time there, Eddie, these are good topics."

If there has ever been a 3/5, is this one.

Because of the bad ending and some beginning problems, and over-all wackyness, but yet still funny, it breaks even for me, 3/5

I like the PBS scenes and the snipits of Bart's undeveloped subplot, but this is typical Scully trash. D

A 6/10, 3/5 seems about right. It has quite a few funny parts but very few really hilarious ones, and the "Jebus" joke is pretty stupid. Homer goes to church every week, he knows what Jesus' name is.

4/5, good episode, one of the best of Season 11.
Kids, let me tell you about another so-called ``wicked'' guy. He had long hair and some wild ideas. He didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was...
I forget. But the point is... I forget that, too. Marge, you know what I'm talking about. He used to drive that blue car?

Principal Skinner: No Ralph this means you're failing English
Ralph: Me fail English? That's unpossible.

This one just came on TV again the other night, and I'll choose to give this a generous 3/5. The premise of the plot is pretty funny, but the execution is terrible. It has quite a few lines that make me laugh (Jebus not included), though, which is more than I can say for quite a few Season 11 episodes.

The episode started out good and somewhat enjoyable, but the main plot unresolved and ended the episode on a sour note with the cutaway, which I think kinda ruined it. It had some funny parts, like Homer licking the frogs and the mob chasing after him early in the episode, but I don't like it very much at all; it's another mediocre episode to me.
