    R&R: Dumbbell Indemnity

4/5. Very underrated episode. I particularly enjoyed the Homer underwater scene.

3/5. I don't like it as much as everyone else.

Just a suggestion, maybe the person who starts these polls can give a brief description of the episode, not all of us have all the titles memorized and know what the episode is by that. Yes, I realize it can be looked up, but the new eps have a brief description, and it would make it easier for the older ones to recall what they were too. I recognize more of the titles from the first 5 seasons now, but that's mainly because I have the DVD's so I see them. But I have no idea which one "dumbbell indemnity" was.

    Here's the TV Tome synopsis:

Quote Originally Posted by TV Tome Synopsis

He takes Moe out to another bar to meet chicks. He has no luck, but somehow meets the perfect woman later. He is not exactly smooth with her, but she really seems to like him. He begins to treat her like royalty; unfortunately, he maxes out his Player's Club card and has to find a way to make money. He and Homer decide on a plan where Homer will steal Moe's car and destroy it on the train tracks. The insurance fraud plan hits a snag when Homer steals the car and stops to see a drive-in movie, instead of going straight to the tracks. Homer switches to another plan and sinks the car to the bottom of the lake. The cops are watching him the entire time, so he goes to jail. Moe refuses to stick up for him, because he doesn't want to lose his girlfriend. Homer makes a jail break and Moe eventually tells his girlfriend about his debt, and pitches a plan to her where he will fake his death. That's enough for her, so she leaves him. He goes on with the plan anyway and he sets the bar a blaze. Homer saves him, and their friendship is restored. Without the bar, Moe turns Homer's place into the new hangout.

Well, except maybe myself and maybe a few other people. I thought it was an average episode in an average season, with little standing out other than the grand theft auto bit. My favourite joke in the episode: "Oh, great, now this model car will have to represent you, and this model person will have to represent my car..."

3/5 overall, not a standout in my books.
Bart: "Please don't call our parents!"
Chief: "I'm afraid I have to for hijinks like these. Hijinks - it's a funny word. Three dotted letters in a row."
    Eddie: "Is it hyphenated?"
Chief: "It used to be, back in the good old days, you know. Of course, every generation hyphenates the way it wants to. Then there's *NSYNC! What the hell is that? Jump in any time there, Eddie, these are good topics."

I thought it was really funny with a strong guest appearence and solid characterization.

Complete and utterly pointless post, hardly connected to reviewing the episode at all:
I actually haven't seen this episode, but judging from the TVTome plot 729 posted, it sounds a little all-over-the-place. But, TVTome's synopsis for episodes often go far-too in-depth with the plot, but "Without the bar, Moe turns Homer's place into the new hangout." sounds a little bit like Homer The Moe. (so I wonder why no one has pointed out that the dreadful Homer The Moe borrowed a plot point from this episode? Or is TVTome's description just making a small gag seem like an entire plot point?) Anyway, I predict when I see it I'll give it a 4/5.

It's such a boring episode. I just consider it another Season 9 episode, and leave it at that. It's getting way more praise than it deserves. There are maybe one or two funny moments, but it isn't enough.

    i think it's a pretty good episode
Homer and Moe are two of my favorite Simpsons Characters anyway.
Always funny to see the two together in the leading role.

The definition of "thoroughly average". Renee's design itself should tell you how bland the majority of the episode is. It has several laughs scattered throughout, though, and I love Moe in general (see avatar), so I can't truly dislike this one. 3/5

It's a really funny episode, with some of good gags (Must...kill..moe...WHEEEE!), and the scenario is solid. 15/20.

It gets slow in some parts, but overall a very funny episode. It's one of my favorites with Moe because we actually get to see a nicer side of him. A decent episode overall.

A high 3/5. Pretty funny, but the elements don't tie quite together enough to reach a 4 level.
