The first two skits were rather disappointing but the last was actually not bad and at times pretty damn funny, though the in-between breaks or whatever ya call 'em with Troy McClure were the best parts in my opinion Phil Hartman was a legend.

    3/5
Oh my great good God! Gentlemen, your attention please. I am detecting a gigiantic amphibious life-form, it's 80 meters long and it's heading this way. Oh good glayven it's on my shoe. It's a small frog, just get off, just get off there, just get out of it, get out of it. Stupid machine, oh wait a minute, this isn't the Monsterometer, it's the Frog-Exaggerator Mm-hai.

My fav has to be the 2nd segment. it makes fun of the horrible written sitcoms I used to watch.

I realize that this is a parody episode, and it does this very well. Unfortunately, while the parodies are spot-on, I just didn't think the episode was funny. It gets some points, but I can't rate this higher than a 3/5. It's certainly not awful though.

I'm pretty sure most people got it was a parody, they just didn't think it was handled well (or funny). I mean just realizing this is a parody isn't the only thin that automatically gets this a 5/5 or anything. It's the execution of it. I myself loved this and consider it a strong offering from my favorite season, but others didn't. That doesn't necessarily mean they didn't get what the episode is trying to accomplish, it just means they didn't like it regardless of humor or plot.

Does being a parody automatically make it great? Or does being great make it "great'?
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

It's pretty good, but loses steam in the final act (although I liked the joke of Lisa's replacement) and it makes the whole episode weaker overall. The first act is the best, the second act is funny but a little weak, and the final act is a boring and a banal parody that had been done already to many times.

    3/5

No, but maybe I didn't specify particularly well. It's a parody episode, that's great.

The Wiggum part has some of my favourite Simpsons jokes. Whoever came up with the idea of having a "warning gator" is a genius.

Wow, I liked this a lot more as a kid than I do now. This episode was cheesey, humourless and had no actual storyline. 1.5/5

The Love matic grampa was classic one of my fave Simpsons shorts, the other 2 segments were utter garbage, the replacement Lisa in Variety Hour really Pisses me off for some reason.
Unable to rate such an inconsistent episode.

That was kinda the point of the episode. It was suppose to be viewed as a so bad/cheesy that it's funny point of view. It was suppose to be mocking how cheesy live action sitcoms as well as Spin-offs can be. If you view it in that respect and not as a regular Simpsons episode it can be pretty funny.

Of course, it was kinda fun actually...
