Rate/Review KOTH: "Care-takin' Care of Business"
I enjoyed this one. The story was paced well and pretty unique, and I like the idea of Hank, Dale, Bill and Boomhauer using their mowing skills to maintain a football field (and rigging it slightly in Arlen's favor). The subplot was decent as well (and a good throwback to last season's Kahn episode), and I enjoyed seeing them connect in a logical way at the end. 4/5 from me.

Wow, didn't even realize this was coming on tonight. Thank God I live on the West Coast.
Was Christopher Lloyd in this one? I heard he was guest starring this season, but hadn't heard anything else.

THAT'S MY PURSE!
I enjoyed it, I was very happy to see that Petty did a very good job of playing Lucky. The plot was also pretty good here. KOTH is on a good streak lately.

Was Christopher Lloyd in this one?
Yeah, he was Smitty, the senile groundskeeper.
I liked this one; it reminded me of an episode from some of the earlier seasons in the way it poked gentle fun at Texas culture (specifically the obsession with school sports). My favorite line was John Redcorn's "My people do not wish death to Denton, but a crushing defeat would be just swell."

Mod, eh?
Definitely above average for this season. I had been hearing of this Lucky plot for such a long time now, and never realized it was the same character as seen in "The Redneck on Rainey Street", which was one of the top episodes of last season. I'm glad they referenced Kahn's phase. Overall I just enjoyed how this one episode was done, and would give it a 4/5.

Not that bad, not that good. I thought it was kinda flat. 3/5

I guess I liked it. Nothing stands out as being spectacular (though Lloyd did a great job with Smitty, and so did Petty), but there was nothing really bad either. It seemed a little odd that Hank was so willing to cheat in Arlen's favor, but I guess football is more important to him than sticking to his beliefs. It had a few good laughs (the rednecks bugging Kahn was probably the best), so I guess it's about a 3/5.
So, are Lucky and Luanne still going out?

I think Hank said something about doing whatever they could "within regulations." There are "legal" ways to do the groundskeeping in such a way as to play to the strengths of the home team and/or the weaknesses of the visiting team.

Apparently so. Lucky's in a couple more episodes this season, including the next episode (March 27) where the main plot is Luanne and Peggy joining the Texas Rollergirls roller derby team, and the subplot is Lucky teaching Bobby about potato chips (or possibly corn chips).
Incidentally, the degree to which Fox cares about KotH can be seen in the fact that next week's episode is a rerun, even though all the other Sunday night shows are new that night (and even though KotH has only had nine episodes so far this season). At this rate, it looks like KotH will wind up with a season of about 16-18 episodes, unless they run it into the summer.

MOAR
The best episode all season. The main plot is the usual football-themed story. Yet another story where everything is somehow Hank's fault, but nothing corny like the stuff we've been seeing lately.
Once again, the sub-plot shines over the main plot; did anyone else check out Luanne's minor makeover? With this episode, Lucky will become the new recurring character on the show. It seems like after the longest time, Luanne has finally found a permanment replacement for Buckley.
This would've been the more preferable season opener than the one where they go to Montana.
5/5

Peace of mind. A mellow life. Crunk music. Investing in spy equipment and communist memorabilia. Having dance contests with myself. Placing last in the local triathlon. All of these things, plus a firm belief in the Lord.

very true. good high school football programs do this all the time. if the home team is strong defensively, they may let the field get wet, muddy, etc., to give them an edge. it's almost expected.
the subplot in this episode was better than the main plot, which is almost always a bad sign, but this episode was an exception to that rule. not much to say .. just a terrific episode. i would argue that this is one of the top king of the hill seasons to date, although i doubt many will agree. on my list of all time favorite shows, king of the hill is slowly surpassing the simpsons based on overall quality. the percentage of bad of koth episodes is remarkably low.

I thought it was a pretty cool episode (although it felt rehashed and/or predictable) B+, anyhow.

I agree with that statement. And even the bad episodes aren't cringeworthy; generally, while the worst Simpsons episodes make me wince or groan, the worst King of the Hills are merely boring. I'm pretty impressed by the long-lasting quality of this show, to be honest. I suppose one could argue that there's been a slight decline over the last three seasons, but it's nothing major, in my opinion (not nearly to the degree of OFF's slump in S10-12, which they have yet to entirely recover from).

Before season 7, I would have agreed with you, but since then, I have not been a huge fan of:
"Dances With Dogs"
"Texas Skilsaw Massacre"
"Full-Metal Dust Jacket"
"Pigmalion"
"Board Games"
"The Miseducation of Bobby Hill"
"The Good Buck"
"I Never Promised You an Organic Garden"
"Racist Dawg"
"Flirting With the Master"
"After the Mold Rush"
"Ceci N'est Pas un King of the Hill"
"Phish and Wildlife"
"Cheer Factor"
"Dale Be Not Proud"
"How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Alamo"
"Girl, You'll be a Giant Soon"
"Hank's Back"
"Death Buys a Timeshare"
"The Petriot Act"
"Enrique-cilable Differences"
And that's a lot of episodes.

Of the ones you listed that I've seen, I agree with Phish and Wild Life, Board Games, The Petriot Act, and You'll be a Giant. Even so, I don't find those terrible, just on the dull side. And I thought Ceci N'est Pas un King of the Hill was a great episode (that was the flood one, right?).
The rest of those fall solely in the "Okay" category for me, if anything.
EDIT: Oh wait, Ceci N'est Pas was the artist one. I thought that was okay as well.

I would say King of the Hill has remained very consistent, but if you go back and watch seasons 2-3, then a new episode, it's almost impossible to argue that there hasn't been some decline. Still, no episodes really stick out in my mind as completely awful and I suppose that's something at least.
This episode is a good example of recent KotH and OFF lately. Pretty average. Not much to complain about really, but you are still left kind of wishing it had been a little better.

from your list, these were the only epsiodes i considered to be "bad." add "boxing luanne" to the list and these are the only episodes from season seven on that i dislike.
"girl, you'll be a giant soon," "phish and wildlife," and others i consider to be merely mediocre.
