Weekend At Burnsie's looks pretty good in that scan. I'd like to see more than just one framegrab, though. I can't wait to get this guide!

The Weekend at Burnsies page makes it look like The Homer Show. With homer everywhere. Everywhere!

Menawhile, I'm kinda glad they went with The Crows bio. I was worried they'd pull a cheap, HOMR-esque stunt and go for "high Homer".

Any chance of a book owner listing who the character bios are for each episode too? It'd be much appreciated

The only three of my predictions that were incorrect. I thought for sure that they'd use Drederick Tatum for "Jaws Wired Shut" - but they seem to be against using recurring characters for episodes where they can just as easily profile boring one-shots (the funeral home salesman instead of Helen Lovejoy in "Tennis the Menace"; the Channel 6 network executives instead of Sideshow Mel in "Day of the Jackanapes"; etc.). However, that's kinda contradicted by their choices for "Little Girl in the Big Ten" and "The Frying Game" - I predicted Tina and Carrie for the former and Mrs. Bellamy for the latter. Eh, Jesse L. McCann's a strange individual...

Tell me Helen Lovejoy's profile is there. Please, God, tell me!

Sorry, I know I'm overreacting, but I've been looking forward to this book, and that's one of the reasons why.

Wow, I got a lot wrong for this season. And they went nuts with modified versions of the regular cast - Baby Stinkbreath? Suds McDuff? "Rock Stars"? What a bunch of cop-outs.

I suppose Kang and Kodos haven't had a profile until now, because they don't have profiles in THOH episodes.
Dude, Where's My Ranch? looks good - so purple and white again for S14. What was the last Season they used this colour scheme for? And only one framegrab again - hope this isn't the trend throughout.

Purple and white has also been used for Season 3 in "The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family" and Season 9 in "The Simpsons Forever".

Okay, I gotta ask - why the hell are they giving the profiled characters these "titles" now? "Luke Stetson, Junior Wrangler"? That could just as easily have been put in the bio itself under "Identity" or something. And is it just me, or are these episode synopses getting much longer than they need to be?

McCann, I didn't think it was possible, but you're slipping even further away from the first book's format.

EDIT: I just realized that the above page features a "Music Moment" chronicling the scene where Maggie dances to Britney Spears' "Oops! I Did It Again". That's not what Music Moments are for, genius - they're for references to songs (as in Homer saying "Now excuse me while I kiss the sky" in "Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?"), not for the actual use of a song itself. They did this a lot in the last book too, I notice...

So basically Jesse McCann is the book's answer to Mike Scully, declining the once perfect complete guide books.

They're probably trying to save recurring characters for later, incase there's an episode with nobody to profile (but obviously, most of them have been done already).

Still not enough framegrabs. I'd rather see red used for once instead of purple again.

Yeah, only thing is, a lot of those episodes are actually in this book. "How I Spent My Strummer Vacation" is one such example - there are one or two characters at the fantasy camp who haven't gotten bios yet, not to mention the versatile Wiseguy as the cab driver, but no, they chose to profile rock stars. No specific rock stars - just rock stars in general. Both Dave Shutton and Snowball II appear in "Old Yeller Belly", but instead they basically recycle Santa's Little Helper. The Blue-Haired Lawyer features prominently in "Barting Over", and instead we get Bart as Baby Stinkbreath.

That's another one of my qualms. There are people who haven't seen these episodes in their entirety and need a good chunk of framegrabs to identify them visually, and this book isn't going to help them with that.

Had plenty of time to look it over today. My review should be on SNPP as soon as Jouni puts it up. (I could post it here, but I'd rather boost SNPP's hit count, hehe).

YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME. Now that they've got precedent, I just know they're gonna do this again in the next book, probably for more than just one episode. Jesse L. McCann, I hate you. I abso-fucking-lutely hate you.

Now I have to start making my own guide pages again so I can prove that I know the format of the books a hundred times better than any of the schmucks at HarperPerrennial.

Well it was in the forbidden planet in London, but they most likely import there stock. I assume it will be in most book shops in a week or so.

Also amazon have it listed as in stock
