Rate and Review : A Milhouse Divided

Homer questions his own marriage bless when, at the latest Simpsons party, Kirk and Luanne VanHouten announce their divorce.
I say 5/5. Some great laugh out loud moments, some decent characterisation and a pretty well executed plot.

4/5. It's good. Better than anything I've seen recently, but has a few problems.

Solid, funny episode, really set up the character of Kirk, one of my favorite minor ones. B+

This is a really funny episode! Everything what Kirk said and did was so funny! Like the drawing of dignity and the 'Can I borrow A Feeling' tape just to name a few.

    Overall, 4/5.

Kirk´s and Luann´s plot...great. Homer´s and Marge´s subplot...meh (in fact a little similar to Al Jean´s Homer´s and Marge´s plots) , but I think I´m gonna give it a 5/5 anyway because the development of Kirk Van Houten is SO good it fixes all the other problems. The ending is also quite good: funny and pathetic at the same time.

I agree with everyone else. 4/5.

Fun, but the ending was a tad ridiculous. I suppose that was the point!

    This episode was okay.

It had a bunch of funny parts in it, but the sub-plot with the deteriorating marriage of Kirk and Luanne van Houtten has been getting to me just recently. It was a twist ending where Luanne refused to remarry Kirk, I'll give it that much.

But I think now is the time for those two to settle their differences, preferably thru reconciliation. It's gotten to the point where they supposedly removed Luanne from the show (she IS seen again in subsequent episodes).

Milhouse is especially NOT a happy camper with his parents' neglegent choices. He even tired to "reunite" them in last season's Treehouse of Horror (the Clockstoppers segment).

So I think after nearly 9 years, it's time to end the feudin'.

Probably one of my least favourite in the "marriage trouble" type of episodes, but it's entertaining with a good plot - it's comparable to a Season 2 or 3 episode, which generally rank around average in my books. About par for a Simpsons episode, which I consider to be 3/5.
Bart: "Please don't call our parents!"
Chief: "I'm afraid I have to for hijinks like these. Hijinks - it's a funny word. Three dotted letters in a row."
    Eddie: "Is it hyphenated?"
Chief: "It used to be, back in the good old days, you know. Of course, every generation hyphenates the way it wants to. Then there's *NSYNC! What the hell is that? Jump in any time there, Eddie, these are good topics."

I just watched this episode again earlier today. I really like it as a marriage trouble episode. Gains points for Homer playing with a car set in his underwear. Looses points because they actually stayed divorced in the later eps, which added a whole new dynamic to the show. In all reality this should not take away from the episode itself, but nevertheless, guilty by association. 3.5/5

A few flaws but a very good episode indeed. Bart breaking the chair on Homer was hilarious. This episode really connected with me by showing how much Homer loves Marge (needs to be more like that NOW). Nothing outstanding but very Simpsonish and everything is above average so it gets a 4.5/5 but I gave it a 4/5.
