Rate & Review: "Pranksta Rap" (GABF03)

    From SNPP

50 Cent guest voices as himself as Bart fakes his own kidnapping (and ends up hiding out with Milhouse's father) to hide the fact that he snuck out of the house to go to a 50 Cent concert.

You can view the preview/speculation thread for more details.

The thread and poll will open once the episode airs.

opening this early since i won't be near a computer when the episode ends.

is it just me or was 50 Cent's speech so slurred that his lines were incomprehensible?

Is Dave Chappelle actually in it, or did TV Guide make that up?

Yeah, I agree. Some pretty okay moments, but mostly terrible.

This episode was awful, and looking at the whole season at the moment this one really outweights it. No good jokes, I don't think I even laughed once. Homer was oddly jerkass-ish. His jokes were weak, and plain. Sterotypical 'gangsta' rap jokes were pathetic and I felt ashamed of watching this episode. Just like "Mommie Beerest" the episode was slapstick, last thought probably added at the last second. Most of the 'serious' well timed jokes were artifical and strained, some had potential but fell flat.

Some okay moments with Wiggum, which had me intruged (sp?) but seriously this episode was awful. How does anyone find it funny? It wasen't because of 50 cent, he hardly appeared which was another bright spot. I thought it was sorta funny with the 'clock' and 'date' chain jokes, but they seemed to be more subtle and were trying to be 'major jokes'. This is very sad too, the plot was great and it had potential but remeber this is a comedy. There needs to be jokes, not plot twists with 'sterotypical' mainstream rap jokes. Some of those jokes, I could have thought up in a matter of seconds. This episode was like Radio Bart minus jokes and laughing. Homer's jerkass mode, violent, and super stupid moods come back. Fucking awful.

Overall: Great idea, poorly executed. Very bad. 2/5

An "A" all the way, even though the ending was somewhat strange.

Only Chief Wiggum can pull off puns (Bratty Hurst); "Does this count as community service?" was hilarious; Marge knowing rap terms reminded me of some mothers I know who, despite what their kids think, know about that sort of thing. I also loved the line about Ralpie and the world going away.

A good episode all-around, although a bit of a weak fourth act. The part with superintendant Chalmers at the credits was just hilarious!

    Surf's Up!!!!!!!

okay. the ending was only half retarded.... they kind of resolved it, with the "greyness between truth and lies" line and then kind of went stupid with the house party... if the two lines werent so close together, it wouldn't have been that bad... i'm still goign 5/5 because it was hilarious and actually had me interested

    Worst Piece of Shit Ever!

Could somebody bring back the Just Don't Look thread because half of the people that have posted need to be told that. This was the worst episode ever! I laughed one damn time! It was another painfully modern episode! Homer is more retarded than Peter Griffin and the guy from American Dad combined in this episode! The ending is worse than last week's! The extra scene during the credits is as idiotic as ever! The whole stupid rap music thing is waaaaaaaayyyy stereotyped! Oh, and the story: anybody remember "Radio Bart"! I missed in the credits when they said who the writer was but when this episode is reran, I will catch the name, find out where the dotard is, and let him get what's coming to him!

    A BIG, FAT O.2/5!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Top 2 jokes:

2.Somebody had to take the babysitter home. Then I noticed she was sitting on-her-sweet-can. So I grabbed-her-sweet can. Oh, just thinking about-her-can. I just wish I had-her-sweet-sweet-s-s-sweet can!

    1. Homer-Hey you $#@*, you cut me off. $#*@ to you!
    Lisa- Dad, that's an ambulance
Homer-Right, honey. Hey ambulance! You think you're so big with your $@#^ *%$# siren. And your letters are on backwards!

    Top 3 THOH Qoutes:

    3. Selma as Homer runs naked across kitchen-There goes the last lingering thread of my heterosexuality.
    2. Delirious Mr. Burns-I was walking through the gas one day!
    1. Flanders-Hey, Homer, mind if I chew your ear
    (Homer shoots Flanders)
Bart-Dad, you killed the zombie Flanders
    Homer-He was a zombie?

Its painfully, painfully ironic that you of all people would request the return of that thread.

(and for the record the episode hasn't aired yet here, so no review from me just yet, but I just had to post that)
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

yeah, it's much better to have the credits take up 20% of the screen while we can learn about upcoming episodes of trading spouses or house, md. what an asinine thing to complain about. it's in addition to the episode.

I wasn't really expecting this episode to be too great, but it turned out being one of this seasons better episodes(IMO).

BTW, the ending wasn't too great.

I really liked this episode, it was funny and cool, loved the bit where homer burns the tshirts but what was with 50 cent, that was his whole guest speach, 30 sec, WTF, lol, not that i wanted to hear more of him *lol*

    4/5

    El Barto
Homer & Marge's rap (feat. Maggie)
    Wiggum's Gun (without bullets)
    50 Cent's surprisingly funny cameo
    "Thanksgiving's not for several months."
    Chalmers in the bonus scene.
"Your mother makes a very loud argument."
    Kirk VanHouten
    Passion of the Salad

The end is a flaming pile though. But, The Simpsons is a comedy, and I did laugh heartily several times throughout. 4/5.
    I was saying "Boo-urns."

Talk about a crappy episode. If they had left out all the rapping and gangster crap then this episode would be half decent. I didn't laugh not once and this'll probably be in my bottom 20 episodes. The only thing that was good about this episode was in the ending with the water splash but that doesn't change the fact that this episode was horrible. (1/5)

So if they completely changed the episode it would be good?

    Really pretty horrid...

This was definitely a 2/5, IMHO. Maybe 1/5. The non-ending just wasn't funny. And there were some turns that I thought could be funny, that just ended up going on too long, or just didn't seem to function well.
I knew it was significantly worse than usual when, at the conclusion, my girlfriend said, "Are you really going to still buy the DVDs when all the episodes are this bad?"
But of course I am. I'm just hoping next week's is better, as per usual. :mexican:
Just felt like shoddy writing overall...

I missed the entire first act. Can someone who downloads the new episodes PM me a link? I liked what I saw. Wiggum got some good screen time for a change, as did Kirk Van Houten. Not much else I can say until I see the rest of the episode. Temporary B+

Rap jokes and Surf's Up ending ruined this episode, despite an excellent last two acts. 2/5 Details later, dinner now.

I voted it 3/5 but I did it to fast actually the more I think about it the more I like it. Did you guys notice a lot of old characters in front of the jail I thought that was cool and I thought the episode was pretty good. 50 cent was funny. It seems we are seeing a lot of throwbacks this year like mentions to old stuff I also noticed the Homer picture from Bart the Daredevil. I think this episode was solid and i will give it a 7.5/10.
