Awesome episode, the end between Homer and Scorpio is the funniest moment of the Simpsons ever. 5/5

Getting worse and worse with each viewing to the point of getting annoying each time I watch it.

A very strange episode and one which would probably have been totally botched in the Scully/Jean era but the brilliance of the classic era was that it could develop outrageous plots and weave them into episodes with a lot of depth, substance, intrigue and entertainment and even to some extent a perspective of reality, even with those with the most out-there premises. I really loved the character of Hank Scorpio -one of my favorites in the whole series -and loved the way that the two sides of his personality (the evil villain and the nice guy and considerate boss) blended together. An episode of true genius which showed how creative the Simpsons writers could be during the classic era. 5/5 and it should be higher

^I never understood that. Was Scorpio just making small talk, or was there a reason he asked that?

I think they're implying few people like France. Well, that's what I've always understood the joke to be.

4/5, but it was a great episode. Don't get me wrong.

IMDB's favourite episode. And one that's in many top-10s around here.

For me, it's probably a top-50 or top-100 episode, but still solid.

    4/5

I realize this post is 6 years old, but i was watching Bart vs. Thanksgiving today and found this:

Homer: See Maggie, those silver and blue guys are the Dallas Cowboys. They're Daddy's favourite team ..and he wants them to lose by less than 5 and a half points.

    It's obscure, but it happened

I remember that quote, too. It just didn't seem like enough to make a running joke in You Only Move Twice. My opinion is still the same 6 years later.

I know some people think it's overrated but I still think it's a 5/5. My favorite part was Homer's conversation with Hank Scorpio about hammocks.

Definitely one of my all-time favorite episodes. 5/5. My favorite part is when Homer help Hank Scorpio kill "James Bont".

    5/5

I love how in the Globex recruitment commerical a homeless bum is turned into a mailbox

Also at the school, the kid that looks like Milhouse always makes me laugh as is Bart's troubles in the remedial class, esp with the pyrpmaniac Warren (love how he slaps Bart's back really hard) and they take the piss out of Canada again

Hank Scorpio is awesome, he's one of those villians you can't help rooting for, love how he had to rush off in a panic after someone ate part of his lunch

Overrated. Nothing really special. I found Marge's subplot incredibly predictable, and I don't think they spent enough time with the supervillain plot either. The ending was pretty abrupt as well. 3/5

They didn't need to spend a ton of time focusing on the supervillain element; the whole joke is that Homer is completely unaware that he's working for somebody trying to take over the world, even when he's thrown in the middle of all the mayhem going on at the base. He develops an incredibly close friendship with Hank Scorpio, very much unlike Mr. Burns, and reluctantly moves back to Springfield only because the rest of his family struggles to adapt to Cypress Creek. Personally, I think that's one of the cleverest premises the writers have ever come up with, not to mention the jokes are particularly spot-on, as well.

And how can you not like the ending? Homer actually gets to own an NFL team, thus partially fulfilling his farfetched dream brought up earlier in the episode, yet he's completely dismayed that he got the Denver Broncos instead of the Dallas Cowboys. It's hilarious because his wish is so extreme and obscure in the first place, yet he still cares about the specifics.
