    R&R Mother Simpson

A near perfect episode. The episode had everything. Great storyline, great humour, great characteristics and very emotinal. Loved the ending!

    A++

Edit 2014: Apologies for the terrible typos in the poll. My spelling/grammar was woeful when I was a teenager! 4/5 should have read 'very good but a little overrated'.

Yeah, I remember that thread, the one that got completely thrown off topic by the "Jesus is tired21" debate.

Still haven't changed my mind; I give it a 3/5

There's two kinds of people in the world- people who love this episode, and bad people. :P

For the record, this distinction also holds for "Lisa's Substitute" and other emotional episodes.

It's doing better in this poll.

I don't really like the 5/5 and 5/5-premium. Where's the 1/5? I usually save my 5/5 for episodes that I feel are real classics, or will become real classics.

It's good but I don't believe it's underrated since it's talked about all the time. (4.5/5)

A great episode from Season 7 and A+ are usually synonymous.

I'm always a sucker for emotional episodes, in Futurama I almost cried at the end of "Jurrasic Bark" this episode also had a few good jokes meshed into it. Even though it wouldn't need them. 5/5

A+. One of the best of the season, and I loved it. Mona finding Homer was nicely done, Mona's retaliation against Burns was great (and the events leading up to it - destroying Burns' germ labs - was original and extremely well thought out). The ending of this episode is without doubt one of the most powerful and emotional endings of the show, and is the Simpsons at its very best.

    A tribute to Bart Simpson

You think THAT's bad? What about that time when I was turned into a Tetris block?

    A-, or a low 5/5

    EDIT: just got a telling off from Drunk Barney on MSN for using my own system of numbers rather than his (mine is A+, A, A = 5/5; B+, B, B- = 4/5; C+, C, C- = 3/5; D+, D, D- = 2/5; F+, F = 1/5; F- = 0/5)...

In mine, A- is a low 5/5, but in his it's a high 4/5 so SORRY.

    lol!

    A+ + A= 5/5
    A-+ B+ + B= 4/5
    B- + C+ + C= 3/5
    C-+ D+ + D= 2/5
    D-+F+= 1/5
    F= 0/5

    It's the correcet mathmatical way!!

You almost confused me there but you really shouldn't have used +s when lots of them are including a + sign...Also how did you figure it was the correct 'mathematical' way?

    YOUR WAY:
    A+, A = 5/5
    A-, B+, B = 4/5
    B-, C+, C = 3/5
    C-, D+, D = 2/5
    D-, F+ = 1/5
    F, F- =0/5

    MY WAY:
    A+, A, A- = 5/5 (a low 5 is A-, a high five is A+! It's that easy!)
    B+, B, B- = 4/5
    C+, C, C- = 3/5
    D+, D, D- = 2/5
    F+, F = 1/5
    F- = 0/5

    Bump.

Wow, this episode is simply amazing in every sense; the humour, the beautiful emotion, the character development and characterisations, the awesome and hilarious animation, the simple plotline, the replay value, and last but not least; the excellence. Top five, best of the season.

    A+.

Who voted for 2/5 or less???

Anyway, this episode has one of the perfect plots ever (although I had to watch it twice in order to see how Mona Simpson got out with the help of Chief Wiggum) and plot alone can give this episode at least 4/5. We haven't seen this side of Homer in awhile (so sad) and the emotion was just done great, especially in the end. Very memorable episode

A superb offering, but not quite funny enough (think bart gest an elephant, ny v homer simpson, cape feare, lisa on ice for a broad look at my preferences there) to put it in the top most category. An A grade episode, certainly, but probably not A+.
