Well Lisa becomes President of the United States!
And Bart becomes the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. So they have to be doing something right.

Homer and Marge are good parents. Beneath the infinite arrests and con-artistry, they can teach their kids good lessons. Even if they can't, Lisa was smart from the beginning, and that's why she becomes president. I can't explain how Bart becomes Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, though...![]()
Top 2 jokes:
2.Somebody had to take the babysitter home. Then I noticed she was sitting on-her-sweet-can. So I grabbed-her-sweet can. Oh, just thinking about-her-can. I just wish I had-her-sweet-sweet-s-s-sweet can!
1. Homer-Hey you $#@*, you cut me off. $#*@ to you!
Lisa- Dad, that's an ambulance
Homer-Right, honey. Hey ambulance! You think you're so big with your $@#^ *%$# siren. And your letters are on backwards!
Top 3 THOH Qoutes:
3. Selma as Homer runs naked across kitchen-There goes the last lingering thread of my heterosexuality.
2. Delirious Mr. Burns-I was walking through the gas one day!
1. Flanders-Hey, Homer, mind if I chew your ear
(Homer shoots Flanders)
Bart-Dad, you killed the zombie Flanders
Homer-He was a zombie?

explain how bush became president and there's your answer
although bush had money, thats a thinker that is.
If I start making sense, I'm not making sense.

Bush was never elected. It was that f%#kin' incident in Florida...so maybe Bart technically lost to Lisa who then decided to become just a senator, and then she realized how good she was at it and decided to run for and then win the roll of president!
That episode blows, so it doesn't count.Originally Posted by mrkatie

Homer and Marge: Homer keeps his job until he's replaced by the son of the Scratchy Voiced Teen while Marge opens a housekeeping service.
Bart: Get's arrested...time, and time again, winds up in jail, but is no one's bitch.
Lisa: Nearly gives up on music to work in an office space, but when she comes to terms with her muse-ality, she learns to play bass, the viola and trumpet. Thanks to new advances in multi-tracking, she becomes a successful musician and is loved around the world by everyone, except John Tesh.
Maggie: After being left behind while the rest of the family went on vacation, Maggie grows up to become the rag-tag tomboy who likes to skateboard on the weekends and is pot head in denial. She's too special for normal school, but too normal for special school. Plaid shirts are her friend.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

You don't need brains or morals to become president. You only have to go back two of your presidents to prove that. Or a Chief Justice.
The total lack of interest in Lisa by Homer and abusiveness and constant strangling of Bart by Homer - and Homer doesn't even remember Maggie's name!- could only recreate lack-lustre, unloved adults.
Marge's well-meaning but repressed character in each episode I'm afraid could only add to these abused, unloved kids in negative ways that leave them falling short of having successful, fulfilled lives.
Jake, agree with you on Bart and Maggie except Maggie takes the Stairway to Heaven at 15 y.o but any ideas of Lisa being a success are just in her office-mind imagination.
Good parents wouldn't create these kinds of people from their kids.
Yes they are good, loving parents (except for when Homer strangles and chokes Bart, ignores Lisa's dreams/desires, and forgets he has a third child).
How will the kids turn out: just like their parents. We all do. I am my father. My wife is her mother. It will happen to you too! Muhahahahaha!
