at the beginning of Special Eda, why is the class pissed at Martin when he asks if he can type his paper and then edna makes it so everyone has to? maybe it's because i type all my assignments, but surely that would be easier than writing? i can obviously understand the page-length joke, but why is everyone mad about typing?
I thought he was asking that no one could type it.

he asks if he can type because it would be "easier on teacher's eyes", then edna says "good idea martin" and makes it so everyone has to type
That's sort of an unusual joke in that's it's a little dated in this day and age when younger people are using computers. When I was younger, it was generally considered more trouble and more time-consuming to type something out than to write it by hand. After middle school, I learned how to type quickly and it became more convenient, but before then it is (was) much simpler for kids to simply write out their paper than type it.
What's also kind of funny is that that joke was as late as S14, pretty much the latest time they could have that aspect work without it being confusing.
If I recall correctly I don't think my family even owned a computer back when that season aired, took a couple more years. I'm still a horrible typist though....
Hey guys, just registered to this forum after finding it through Google. I really need help with one particular episode I'd like to rewatch, it's just that I don't remember much of it and especially not the name. A million thanks to anyone who help me.
What I remember of it is: Edna Krabappel is standing outside of the Springfield Elementary School and this funny looking leather jacket guy walks in while saying "Edna K" with a long K, then this big black guy with a red shirt walks in (Fat Albert?) saying "Hey hey hey" with a very deep voice.
What is the name of that episode?
Season 13, Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge
The references are to Fat Albert and The Fonz from Happy Days.
Hey guys,
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me which episode this picture came from?
Thanks in advance.
Lisa the Tree Hugger from season 12.

In The Fat and the Furriest, when Homer has a wig of cotton candy, he says, "Only my hairdresser knows for sure." I don't understand that at all.

women talking about their hair. only their hairdresser would know if it's real or coloured. "only his hairdresser would know if the wig is real." that's what i think anyway.
i remember the line on a commercial too.

Ah, thank you.

I wonder why Moe was taken out at the end. Is this a possible way of cutting back on salary?

I have something that stayed with me for a while: How come Marge (and to a lesser extent Homer) still be nice to Patty & Selma. They are often rude and don't even give Homer a chance. They don't even treat Bart and Lisa well. Sure they are smokers that care little for anyone but you'd think they'd be nice to Homer, and Marge would even begin to realize that her sisters aren't as nice as the seem to be. (As I recall she shrugs off the moment where Patty threw a cigarette on Homer's eye.) This may seem a bit extreme but am I the only one wondering?

I think She's still nice to them, because They're her older sisters, we can see how she's staring at them when she was child otherwise they're family, also she know that Homer isn't nice to them too, They hate each other. Personally I've got something like this on my home ( My dad & grandma) except this situation with children. You know Simpsons are comedy series, so those situations are exaggerate.

homer is mean to them and they retailiate. they think he's a loser and he just likes to be mean to them. they think he'll never amount to anything and no matter what he does they still think this. overtime this would culminate and make him be a dick to them every now and then. marge doesn't really care because she's used to it, and it's not like she can pick sides, since homer is her husband and patty and selma are her older sisters, so he just lets them be. as long as they aren't killing each other she has no reason to worry
Hi all,
Something has been bothering me. Season 2, Episode 8 Bart the Daredevil. Has this been cut for DVD? I am positive we used to see Homers second fall into the Gorge. He had rolled out of the Ambulance, and much like the first fall, we saw him hit rocks and sharp edges, while still wrapped up in a blanket. We then saw him hit the floor, and then the Stretcher smacks him in the back of the head.
Has this been cut because it was too violent? or am I just insane and remembering my childhood wrong.
I am also certain his first fall has been shortened too. Would love to know if someone else remembers seeing the second fall in detail.

The fall in its entirety was shown in So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show; I'm not sure if it was originally cut from Bart the Daredevil, or simply created when they were making the clip show.
EDIT: I just looked it up; it was animated specifically for the clip show.

Glad to be of service.![]()
