ok, the grabpic is not essential or anything, but it would be nice people.

A real doubt I have, in the episode "Burns' Heir", what does this mean:

Deprogrammer: Mr. and Mrs. Simpson, your son has clearly been brainwashed by the evil and charismatic Mr. Burns.
Marge: Are you sure you can get him back for us?
Deprogrammer: Absolutely. I'm the one who successfully deprogrammed Jane Fonda, you know.
    Marge: What about Peter Fonda?
Deprogrammer: Oh, that was a heartbreaker.
    (from snpp.com)

The Peter Fonda thing, I did not understand.

Moe: What are you telling us, were trapped like rats?

Russ Cargill: No, rats can't be trapped this easily, you're trapped like... carrots.

    HELP ME!!

Please help me with this...if you can.

In the episode from season 15 entitled 'The Regina Monologues' (the one where they go to Britain with Tony Blair, Ian MacKellen, JK Rowling, etc), there's some music from a movie...I don't know which movie it is and its driving me INSANE trying to think of it. You ever get that?

Anyways...its from one of Grampa's flashbacks...he's telling about how he was stationed in Britain in 1944 picking up a girl and the next day he had to go to war...and never saw her again.

The music hits when it shows him on a boat going out to sea to fight the Germans.

If you know what music it is...or where its from, I'll be eternally grateful. (Something tells me its from a war movie as well...but with....WAIT...is it from Gladiator? Which part?)

Could someone tell me what Gary Coleman did and where he was seen in A Tale of Two Springfields? I cannot recall him being in the episode (maybe it's a syndication cut?), but sites and Beyond Forever say he guest starred in that episode.

Marty: Okay, time to give away freeeee concert tickets.
[Bill pushes a button on console]
Gary Coleman: [sound bite] Whatchu talkin' about?
Marty: What we're talking about, Gary, is The Who.

    That's it.

I am trying to think of the episode, but OFF is outside and Homer has just spent a lot of money on something and Marge pretends to like it, but then in her head says something like "How much did he waste on this?". Firstly, what is her exact line? Secondly, what did he buy? and thirdly, what episode is it?
I remember watching it a short while ago and I can just remember that moment in the episode and it is driving me insane!!

It was on "The Frying Game," when he bought her the Koi Pond.

  11. #821

Ahh, yes! The Koi pond, as soon as I read that and saw E-I-E-I-Moe's avatar I made the connection. What is the line Marge says? I remember her language seemed very out of character.

I believe her line was "How much money did he piss away on this?"

  13. #823

On a similar note: what's the name of the song that plays when Lisa and Bart go crazy in that ep? It was also in those cruise commercials. Catchy song.

I don't know the first song, and I don't know this one either.

    Any help?

Why would Marge say that when she always complains how insensitive he is?

The song is "Lust For Life" by Iggy Pop, from his 1977 album Lust For Life. It was used in the 1996 movie Trainspotting which that scene parodies.

On Deep Space Homer the NASA guys watch televison or "TV" to see what sort of people are popular to the American public. The first show was Married With Children but I don't know what the hell the other one was. What is the name of the show and why was the guy barking? I don't get what there referencing but I find it hilarious anyway.

I don't remember anyone barking, Do you mean when the guy laughed his horrible laugh and ran over the giuy on the other side of the fence, because that was Home Improvement. And the back to jail thing was a reference to when he did drugs in real life. Tim Allen and Home Inprovement.

In Pranksta Rap, when Kirk's being arrested, there's a poster that says Milhouse's Room, and I couldn't catch what else it said.

Edit: Nevermind, came across the answer in the R/R thread

I have another question. In "The Old Man and the Key," does Bill Saluga appear imitating Ray J at the show Grampa and Bart go to in Branson, or somewhere else?

Why is Mr. Burns know by his middle name (Monty) rather than his first name (Charles)?

For no particular reason, at least not one that's ever been said on the show. The show's writers probably had him do it because it's sometimes fashionable for very rich/powerful men to do so, like H. Ross Perot.

The reason that he has the name Charles is because of Charles Foster Kane. It was there for one joke in Two Cars... and stuck. I think the name Monty may have been used before that.

Is there any specific reason why Bart mispronounces "Kearney" while doing his newscast in "Girly Edition"? Or was it just a mistake on Nancy's part? It's always bugged me, so I just thought I'd ask.

I don't think it's a mistake as it is a preference as to how it's pronounced. I've heard that name pronounced either 'KUR-ny' or 'KYEER-ney', and I know that Nebraskans have a preference as to how the name of Kearney, Neb. is pronounced, but I'm not sure how.

All in all, it's more of a continuity error in pronounciation than it is a mispronounciation. It probably also has to do with dialect.
