Is this guy/vehicle supposed to be a reference to anything, or is the joke just that he's going to pay Homer a lot because of the number of axles?

I don't know if this has been asked before, but what was that whole foreign conversation in Greatest Story Ever D'ohed? Hate the episode, but I was always curious about what they were saying.

    hey all,
In 'Mother Simpson' in the flashback with Abe on the couch "buttoned down plastic fantastic maddison avenue scene."
Is the painting above the couch a parody of a real artist or artwork? If so, who?

Edit: whoops, it was actually from 'the itchy and scratchy movie' during the flashback with abe watching the moon landing, the picture behind the couch, any takers ?

Thank you Bella, so much! Yes that is the scene. I am pretty sure of the time stamp cause I have it on itunes and I triple-checked, but that is neither here nor there. Again thank you for all of the different screen shots. Also, Rusty, are you sure that that is the episode? What is he holding in his hand? I believe it is homer, but in Hammer 'Em, the lines are on homer's left hand side and the door is on the right, whereas in this shot they are reversed. Did they flip the shot, I wonder, just to mess with the viewer? Can anyone get confirmation?

Which episode has that scene where Fat Tony and his crew are driving and it spoofs the Sopranos opening.

I agree with Rusty, it's from that episode.

I think Homer's holding the door handle or a tool like a spanner or something in that scene.

Also don't know what you're looking at, but the lines are on homer's left side as well in my screenshots.

    I like that

I'm trying to figure out an episode, but the details are fuzzy in my mind. I remember an older lady who I think is rich. She would say "I like that" after a lot of stuff she would say. I think Bart and Lisa almost got her killed in a car accident at the end of the episode and the lady said something like "You tried to kill me, I like that." Anybody have any clue?

I never saw a response to this and "Ryan", who asked the question 5 years ago, probably no longer cares, but the music played in that episode when the people were drinking it up in the speakeasy is called "The Charleston". It was apparently very popular back there in the 1920s before most of us were born.

Got a "what episode" question. I seem to remember a scene, possibly a clip from a mcbain movie, where there was a table of French diplomats, or army guys, or something, and they all laugh that horrible french laugh, and their throats swell up like frogs. Any takers?

I know what you're talking about but I don't remember specifically either

yeah it's some evil meeting at an evil table. maybe Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming... it has lots of angles and some government conspiring.

edit: try going through this: http://www.snpp.com/guides/foreign.html#france (though it might not be so complete, as it doesn't even have cheese-eating surrender monkeys as an entry)

What's the episode where Lisa relates to some woman's show at a club/cafe, and talks to her about it afterwards? The woman then dejects her or Lisa becomes weirded out or something. That's all I can remember, sorry.

I think it is merely a reference to that cliche in baseball movies or whatnot based on when I think Babe Ruth met a dying boy and was asked to hit a homerun for him, which he did. I'm not sure though honestly...
