Here's kind of a stupid question (not that the answer is obvious, it's more of a 'why the hell would anyone care' kind of a thing): Does Hank Azaria do the voice of that movie exec guy who (in the ep with Mel Gibson) says "Why did Mr. Smith kill everybody?"

    Choke on your lies!!!

Really sorry it's not a Simpsons question but I didn't know where else on the internet to find the answer but if anyone were able to tell me the name of the actress in this picture I would really appreciate it.

In "Who needs the Quickie Mart?" Apu starts off with "Lisa can philosophise. Bart's adept at telling lies...."

What does he say about Marge (While seemingly measuring her hair with Granpa's cane) ?

Is there a particular reason why Rosebud is called Rosebud? I know it has something to do with Citizen Kane, but I haven't seen it, yet.

Through all his success and all of his riches, the main character in citizen Cane could never reach the level of happiness brought to him by "Rosebud", a simple, steel railed sled.

.................................. or it might have been the name of a stripper at the club down the street from his house...........

    it's been a while.

In "G-g-ghost D-d-dad" in THOH XI, a baby carriage rolls down the stairs of city hall. Homer rescues the baby just as the carriage is run over by a car. It then explodes into flames.

In "Terror at 5 1/2 Feet" in THOH IV, Hans Moleman runs his car off the road. He ALMOST hits a tree, but stops just in time. The car then explodes for almost no reason.

What does it mean when John and Homer talk about things especially Marge's curtains, "Didn't you die when you found those?" having "camp value" I never understood that term, and why did someone say Whatever happened to baby Jane was "campy". Oh and wasn't the baby carriage a parody of the movie "The Untouchables" when Kevin Costner has to try to save the baby and also not get shot by the gangsters and try to catch them? And its parodied in Naked Gun 33 1/3 too I think (Leslie Neilson)
Moe: What are you telling us, were trapped like rats?

Russ Cargill: No, rats can't be trapped this easily, you're trapped like... carrots.

why does everybody, when referring to a specific episode, have to name it as an acronym? there are close to 400 episodes and we are supposed to, off the top of our heads, know what someone means when saying:

"yeah i think ICM is a better episode then PGABNB but worse than JWS. However WAB was the worse episode since TPR dethroned TMF"

the above is an obvious exaggeration but anyway.. im not really complaining, im just.. well im complaining.

i can understand people using THOH and LETS.. those are pretty obvious.. or if you've been talking about an episode in your post and you wanted to make it easier and start using the acronym or if an entire thread is about the episode.

i know some of you are so into the simpsons that you could easily recognize acronyms of episodes using the last letter of each word in the title instantly, but some of us only have an obsession with the show to the point of never making new friends, etc.

anyway, got that off my chest.

Actually, we usually only use acronyms for episodes we talk about lots. For example, everyone knows what KTAAR means because we talk about how bad it is, as we do with NKOTB (New Kids on the Blecch...of course it could also be New Kid on the Block, except if we use it in a sentence with any word meaning 'bad' you can be sure we are talking about Blecch)...
Episodes with fairly short titles are basically never said using acronyms here (for example, Das Bus, Mountain of Madness, etc).
Basically, only the episodes talked about frequently and are well known are told of using acronyms.

Also read Reservoir Dog's post. He makes a great point.

now see, ive been reading this forum for a long time. i know what acronyms "we" use. obviously, as i noted in my post (which must have been interpretted incorrectly) i can understand the use of certain titles.. like the ones you mentioned. yes, they're talked about all the time. all you'd have to do is read my post to know i understand that

and obviously, since i made the above post, i must have noticed recently that people are using acronyms that are according to you "basically never said" and i was basing my post on those. because, in fact, i have seen a lot lately. i guess no one else had a problem. it wasnt supposed to be a very serious post anyway.

    thanks for the reply though

Does anyone know which was the episode where McBain (or Wolfcastle) was selling pizza? There was something about 9mm bullets in pizza and and McBain also said something like "If you ask for broccoli, what the heck is broccoli anyway, I will kill you!"
