    Rate and Review "Kamp Krusty"

Ok, seeing as S4 is released in the US today, it's time for a R&R thread of the first ep. I might do one evry day for a few weeks for eps from S4.. see how it goes.

Anyways, a great ep, funny as hell, and one of the best kid-based episodes. The ending was excellent, too. A

Loved the chalkboard gag: "This punishment is not boring and pointless" and the Flintstones couch gag. The story is quite good, if predictable, and the animation isn't all that great; Ralph's head is a little squashed, et cetera. But that aside, a good episode and a good season premiere for season four.

What's it like creating a poll for the new NHC?

I think a mod can add a poll now. Overhype uses the same script, I'm a mod there, and I am able to do so.

As for the episode, it's funny, even if the animation's a bit bland. It does create the atmosphere for the rugged, unsafe campground though. 4/5, B

    Where's the poll?

For the time being, I'll give it an A. After I get my season 4 set tomorrow (hopefully), I'll write a fuller review than the following:

Not much to say. This was a great way to open a great season. The best part of this one, aside from the humor and other stuff, is Bart's unwavering faith in Krusty. Sort of done in a style similar to "Krusty Gets Busted", this episode showed Bart as a little boy, hoping that his idol would come through and save him. And, as I've stated numerous times before, I love good characterization. The rest of the things that make this episode great (good storytelling, good plot, great humor) are just icing on the cake.

A good episode, very entertaining at some bits. It's fun to see the kids suffer at the camp (that sounds more sadistic than I meant it to). A-

A, I find the Krusty plotline pretty interesting as it's mostly just random cutaways and all...I had watched Season Four all the way through before, but I had never realized just how many Family Guy-esque cutaway gags and the amount of times that Homer sings are in these episodes...anyway, classic episode, with a great song (check out the very funny extended verson of "Hail to Thee Camp Krusty" on the Yellow Album)

Funny to see Homer and Marge without the kids, that has made for some good eps. This one being first on the list. Grade: A

Grade: A. Very funny episode, great song featured in it, and a nicely done Homer and Marge "kids are away" subplot. Awesome episode to start off an awesome season.

Very, very funny episode. I loved that Homer lost weight and got into shape and grew some hair all because the kids were at camp and when he saw on the news that bart was the leader he gained the weight back and lost his air. It had great jokes and a great plot. 5/5

This episode has my favorite line of season 4. "Gentleman, to evil." I think this is a great and if you listen to the commentary, James Brooks wanted to use this plot for the movie. A+

Having never been to summer camp, i've always felt detached from this episode, but (this is sad probably) i have great memories of watching this for the first time. The dark humor of such a horrible place is done so much better than "The Crepes of Wrath". Homer & Marge's subplot and the overlong "Kamp Krusty" theme are the only things holding this episode back.

I've always seen this episode as a good start to an even better season. Meaning, its a very good episode, but is ultimately overshadowed a bit by much of what comes later. Nonetheless a frantic and fun episode with great humor all around. Especcially memorable are all the "takeover" scenes at the camp, including Kent Brockman's visit.

    B+/A-
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

5/5. This one was a classic. I loved those "Lord of the Flies" references.

I thought this was a good episode. I liked the beginning, when they played "School's Out" by Alice Cooper while the kids and the teachers were destroying the school. The "Kamp Krusty" song is always funny. My favorite part is when Bart is talking with Krusty about how bad the camp was. The pictures at the end were also funny.

I give this episode an A.

For a Simpsons episode, this was pretty good, but when stacked up against the rest of S4, this just deserves a plain "good." There wasn't as much character exploration or satire. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time we see how much merchandise we see Krusty put on misappropriate items. (death camp, clocks that overheat when plugged in, handguns) If true, this epsisode deserves credit for that. I also liked the cheap visual joke of Homer's gut popping out and hair falling off.

Good way to start the best season ever. I loved the scenes at Kamp Krusty. The Homer and Marge subplot worked well. The ending and the beginning were both well used and funny.
