    THOH V -- B

Maybe I've seen this one too much, but this just didn't interest me. Not really surprising considering I usually dislike Thohs and usually avoid them, but I've seen better THOHs than this. 7 minutes just isn't enough time to create a compelling story, and it showed here. The Shinning was paced badly and generally not funny. Time and Punishment was the best one, but not hilarious and not particularly interesting. Nightmare Cafeteria was good but great... I'd actually argue it was the funniest of the 3. How people have this in their top 10 lists I'll never know.

While I do find THOH V to be one of the weaker THOH;s of the classic era. It's weird to say 7 minutes isn't enough to create a compelling story when I really feel the opposite. It's crazy to me that they are able to do such a brilliant movie parody in 7 minutes(the Shinning) and an off the wall hilarious story in Time and Punishment(my favourite segment of the episode). Nightmare Cafeteria is entertaining enough but obviously not as good as the first two segments and the only one of the three with any real issues(small ones at that)

I think it just down to me seeing it too much so I can predict the jokes which admittedly are strong. I guess that also results in me finding the stories less interesting; I do remember liking the episode in the past. But even in other THOHS I generally am disinterested in the stories, as they go by very quickly and I personally as a consequence rarely get engaged in the segment's plotline, but once again that is probably just a personal thing rather than a fault with THOHS and I can see the advantages of having smaller stories which are just entertaining. The thing is I would much rather have a full episode with a long plot as I just find them more interesting (bland vocab I know) because they're more character based than THOHs (although I am aware it is not the intention of THOHS to be character based)

    Homie the Clown - A
    The PTA Disbands - A-
    Homer vs Patty & Selma - B-
    Lisa's Wedding - A (Easily the best flash-forward episode)

Watching some episodes from this season for the first time in a while. Season 6 has plenty of whacky humour but it is still generally very consistent, apart from one or two poorer showings. Looking at Season 5's weaker points, I prefer 6.

Bart's Girlfriend - 9.25/10 Great stuff. Mixed story and humour well (Homer was especially funny), and is definitely the best '___ gets a girl/boyfriend' episode.

Lisa On Ice - 8.75/10 A very funny episode, with a sweet ending. Unfortunately, Homer is too much of a jerk, and some moments of the episode seem a bit mean-spirited.

    Lisa on Ice -- B

Once again I think I've seen this episode too much. Still very funny though. I just don't find the plot very interesting and the sweet ending felt out of place considering the tone of the rest of the episode. It was nice, but also kinda forced (not sure if that's a good or a bad thing). Homer was crazy here but I didn't mind him, I can't deny I found him funny. A good but not great episode.

    Hardly.

Marge on the Lam - 8.5/10 (Truly wonderful S5 episode. Love every character from Marge and Ruth to Homer and Lionel. The vending machine gag is one of the funniest gags in Simpsons history. Great stuff)

Regarding Margie - 6.5/10 (Other than Bart's disturbing response to Homer's stranglings, this episode was still pretty good, but I wouldn't call it "great")

Homer Badman was on TV there.

5/5 - One of my all-time favourites. Love the satire of the media in it.

Homer Badman - 10/10 One of my favourite episodes. The best episode of Season 6, and one of the best episodes ever, in my opinion. Really, really funny, with great satire, and still has a great plot and characterisation.

The Greatest Story Ever D'ohed - 0.25/10 Oh. Dear. This is terrible. Absolutely vile. The jokes are horrible. The story gets wacky, but is still very boring. The characterisation was bad. The guest star was used very badly - his character just would not shut up. There is virtually nothing redeemable about this episode. Maybe it was a bad idea to watch it after 'Homer Badman', but I stand by what I say. Worst. Episode. Ever.

Mayored to the Mob -- C

This episode is enjoyable up until the point where Homer discovers that rats are being milked, and that it's been distributed to the school. Before this point, it had the potential to be a very enjoyable episode with good gags, and an overall good flow/story. Though once Wiggum and gang shut down the operation, and the milk is out of the picture, it picks back up; and has a number of funny jokes. That's why I gave it a 'C' rating. If the milk/rats had been in the entire episode somehow (?), I would have rated this a 'D' instead.

Grandpa vs Sexual Inadequacy - 8.25/10 A pretty good episode, but nothing spectacular. Reasonably funny, and interesting original conflict, but it felt like two different stories mashed together.

    The Fool Monty - 4/5

Love that most of the episode is people spending time with Mr. Burns, when they could have just either hurt or kill him.
