You can do anything if you put your mind to it.
Everything happens for a reason.
Just be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.
Don't worry about the world ending today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

The Springfield Files (A+). Love the X-Files and love this episode.

"Stark Raving Dad" - 5/5 (This was the first time I've seen this episode since Jackson's death, though I suppose that's inconsequential. At any rate, I've always thought it was sort of a nice, feel-good episode. And that song is freakin' catchy.)
"Homer Alone" - 4/5 (A funny episode, but the last act and a half sort of, uh, bores me. I love the Bart/Lisa stuff (though it's strange that they have to stay with Patty and Selma in the first place), and it's an interesting exploration of both Maggie's bond with Marge, and what exactly makes Marge tick.)
"Bart the Lover" - 5/5 (One of my favorites of all time; I wish they'd do more Edna-centric episodes. The end, with the family writing the farewell letter, is classic.)
Bart Gets an Elephant 8/10
She Used to Be My Girl 7/10
she used to be my girl
first ep i had seen in an age. not too bad!
"Evolution is silly," AJ adds. "Monkeys? Um, no."

"Colonel Homer" - 5/5 (Brilliant episode. It's funny and touching and all that good stuff; Beverly D'Angelo is easily one of the best guest stars the show's ever had, and damn if those songs aren't catchy.)
"How the Test Was Won" - D
wow, such shit.

She Used To Be My Girl C-
"Marge on the Lam" - 4.5/5 (One of Homer's funniest episodes (I love his response--"They'll grow back, right?"--when he's told they'll have to cut his arms off), and the Marge story is engaging (and much more interesting to me now that I've actually seen, like, Thelma and Louise). This may also be the best use of Lionel Hutz ever in the series.)
"The Last Temptation of Homer" - 4/5 (Excellent episode, but the ending seems a bit rushed (not to mention obvious). Still, funny stuff.)
"Homer's Barbershop Quartet" - 4/5 (I'm not a big Beatles fan, so much of the mythology behind it is lost on me, but this is a solid flashback episode just the same.)

The Regina Monologues- C+/B-
"Lisa's Wedding" - 5/5 (One of my all-time favorite episodes, though this was the first time I watched it and thought "Jeez, it's only been 15 years; all these characters have aged terribly." For some reason, the timeline bugged me a little (Bart having had multiple wives by the time he's roughly 25, for example). Still, the story itself is sweet (and that music at the end of the episode, as Homer and Lisa are walking into the sunset or whatever, is one of the best cues ever), and the conceit of setting the show in the, er, distant future yields some pretty great material.)
"The PTA Disbands!" - 3.5/5 (I like the use of Marge, and the dynamic between Skinner and Edna, but it's not the greatest episode. There are some really funny moments (Jasper's beard getting stuck in the pencil sharpener, Lunchlady Doris's dismay at the fact that "there's very little meat in these gym mats"), and the observational stuff about how different kids deal with being on strike is good. There's just something off about this one, though; I'm not really sold on the ending, I guess--it seems a little rushed.)
"Homer vs. Patty and Selma" - 4/5 (Great episode, particularly because it handles a very down-to-earth, almost sitcom-ish story in typical Simpsons fashion (which is to say, y'know, brilliantly). There are some moments that fall sort of flat (a lot of the scenes end on pretty blah jokes), but I love how earnest Homer is, and how far he's willing to go to support his family and maintain his dignity (well, sort of).)
"And Maggie Makes Three" - 4/5 (An interesting flashback episode, in that the plot itself could've occurred in the show's "real time" (Homer getting a job at the bowling alley isn't so period-sensitive that they couldn't have cut the Maggie-being-born aspect out of it, and just went nuts with "Homer the Pin-Monkey" or whatever). It does have one of my absolute favorite endings, though.)

Reject me and you reject the world's awesome.
Yes, my mind does work like that.
Homer's Odyssey - 2/5
I don't Wanna Know Why The Caged Bird Sings - 4/5
That 90's Show: 0.5/5

Homer they Fall - C. nicely paced, although dull and boring. I loved season 8 but this one was a stinker.
Take My Life Please - A-
How the Test Was Won- B+
In my top 4 for season 20.
"Lost our Lisa" - 5/5 (One of the best episodes of the Scully era; it may just be top 50 material. I love Homer/Lisa episodes, especially those that seem to have something fresh to say (I like that this isn't a Homer-neglects-Lisa episode; it's a Homer-teaches-Lisa episode). There's something sweet about the story and how it's executed. It's also a very observational episode, and despite the occassional forays into wackier territory (Homer's head getting crushed in a drawbridge is a bit, uh, much), it is a story that could conceivably happen in real life. The big episodes are great, but sometimes it's nice when you get one that's more down-to-earth, where the family acts, well, real: do the things a family does, say the things a family says (I love Marge's line to Bart in the ER waiting room: "That's the kind of faucet I want for your bathroom"; it's such a mom thing to say). So, yeah. Excellent episode.)
"Natural Born Kissers" - 3.5/5 (I would have liked this episode a lot more if they had redone the third act. It's funny and all, but just a bit over-the-top. It was an interesting story to explore, though, and I thought it was handled realistically (two-thirds of the time, at least).)
Homer The Great - 5/5
Last Exit To Springfield - 5/5
Homer At The Bat - 5/5

Homer the Whopper- D+/C-
"Marge Be Not Proud" - 4.5/5 (Great episode--I love the exploration of the Bart/Marge relationship--but it's a big lacking in the joke department. Excellent characterizations, though.)
"Lisa the Iconoclast" - 3/5 (It's a sweet episode--it's great to see Homer so supportive of Lisa--but it's kind of...preachy. Donald Sutherland did a pretty good job, though.)
8:00 Homer the Whopper - 3/5
Now- I'm Goin' to Praiseland 3/5
On the line:
"You could fix up the old Storytime Village. They've been out of buisness ever since that kid got his head cut off."
