despite "Homer the Moe" Gould has turned out to be a pretty good writer. The only problem with him is that he tries to cram too many things in and the episodes end up feeling rushed and the ending abrupt.

I thought this guy had no hope for writing decent episodes
after Scully holdover, Homer the Moe. Gould has since blossomed under Al Jean, writing a couple very good episodes. The President Wore Pearls is the best here.

Each Gould episode has been progressively better than the least, each fixing a detrimental problem the previous episodes contained. "Poppa's" restored character likeability absent in "Moe", "C.E.D'oh" minimized the recycling that plagued both previous episodes, and "Pearls" had a better grasp on plotting than either of the three previous episodes. If these trends continue...Aaayyy.

At the moment, my favorite is C.E.D'oh, but once I've seen The President Wore Pearls, it might just overtake it as my favorite episode penned by Dana Gould, who is, apparently, a man, and not a woman as I originally assumed.
