    Rate/Review: Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious

    you know what to do

IMO, Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious is clearly the worst of season 8, with a stupid parody, silly, annoying songs, only funny bit was Shary Bobbins dying at the end of the episode.
Not a very good episode, much like All Singing, All Dancing

Very stupid and crazy but for some reason I still enjoy it, The story basically goes nowhere but the songs were just hilarious. A-.

Loved it. Fantastic parody of a fantastic movie, nicely done with tongue firmly in cheek. The producers didn't even need Julie Andrews here, as Maggie Roswell took to the role brilliantly and has a lovely singing voice. I quite liked the references to Victorian England in the actions and dialog of the minor characters, but the best part of the episode is quite obviously the songs, all ripped off hilariously, and you know what ones are being imitated.

    Grade: B

It's a funny enough Mary Poppins parody, with some nice musical numbers ripped from said movie. And even the ending with Bobbins being torn apart in the jet doesn't bother me, and is actually quite funny in a dark way. But the characterizations of the family were quite shoddy. Particularly Bart and Lisa when they become great kids with Shary Bobbins, and later lousy kids for no real reason. It's funny, yes, but I just can't label an episode a classic with characterizations this bad.

As far as wacky gag style episodes go, this one pleases. Shary Bobbins is admittedly nothing more than a thin Mary Poppins knockoff and a one time gimmick character. But, like many other season eight outings, the gimmick works well here. There are plenty of hilarious moments, most occurring in the first act and some very nice song parodies too. The notion of Marge losing her hair due to stress is handled well but pretty much forgotten once Shary Bobbins arrives. The laughs become less frequent as the episode progresses and by the third act the story has nothing to do but repeat itself which brings it down a little. Still, a solid gag episode.

Meh, it was good the first time I watched it, but it really doesn't hold up to repeat viewings

Excellent! It gets a 5+/5 for me, but I´m gonna rate it with a 1/5, just to see how does Wezzo react.

Well, this was another one of those episode that just didn't seem Simpsons. I understand the entire episode was a parody, but some things are too extreme to overlook. Bart and Lisa being nice and then changing all of a sudden, as Channel Surfer said, is one of the more prominent examples. Perhaps, they tried to follow the movie a bit too closely. This is a 2-hour movie trying to be squeezed into a 30 minute show. Things flowed much better in the movie, as they should when you have much more time to actually connect two parts together. The episode felt a bit all over the place for this reason. It was a fine attempt at a parody, and I applaud their efforts, but there was a bit too much to try to copy in this one. B-

4/5. It was a good Mary Poppins parody, obviously, with some great musical numbers and gags. But the 3rd act wasn't as funny, so that brought it down a point.

I loved this episode. One of the greatest movies of all time called for one of the greatest parodies of all time for the Simpsons. I give it a 5/5.

Sorry to disagree, but it is harly the greatest parody of all time (for the Simpsons), a great parody has to be clever. This wasn't really clever, they just substituted the characters.

Was originally a C+, but due to Wezzo's enlightenment, I've upped to a B-! Well, it was a good parody of the movie (and I pretty much don't like the movie, btw!) It featured some nice one liners incl the K-K-K one, Maniac, most of the songs, and the Itchy and Scratchy cartoon. However, characterisation was way off, the 3rd act could have been a lot better, animation was kinda poor for that season, and the whole episode just seemed a bit too wacky, especially for S8. Not the worst by a longshot though! B-

i think this parody of Mary Poppins doesn#t work so good imo.
Has some good moments but in general the story is a little bit too weak.
Some of the songs are good but nothing great.

Its an alright "music episode" but I dont particulary like any of the music ones. The final song is the best of them and Bart with the pepper gave me the biggest laugh.

C+ Possibly the worst of the awesome 8th season

I just really hated this one, as I'm not a big fan of when The Simpsons just break out in song. It was just as bad as the movie Mary Poppins. D+

Al Jean's 210th Disney-ripoff is a complete disaster. It has no jokes, is very crazy and definitely the worst of S8. C-
