Rate and Review 'And Maggie Makes Three'

Synopsis: When Lisa wonders where all the photos of Maggie are in the family album, Homer to tell the story on how he had to give up his dream job when Maggie was born.

5/5, One of the best flashback episodes, I don't know why people call this the worst, when there are worser flashback episodes out there.

    The Good
    Nightboat, the crime solving boat
    "Everyweek there is a canal...or an inlet...or a Fyord."
Homer vs. The All Star Team of Free-Lance Terrorists
    Homer's calender
    Bongo-head Burns
Homer and Marge going out for Dinner and Dancing. (Don't know why cracks me up all the time.)
    Homer's head exploding
"I'm going to march up to Al and say..." (Homer is talking to Al) "Steve...I mean Al..."
    "He's a boy! and what a boy!"

    The Bad
The way the story keeps cutting back to the family. (More often than Flashback episodes normally do)
Homer stuffing sand in his underpants, it was funny the first few times, but grows old, real fast.
Homer not understanding a thing when people are congratulating him on getting Marge pregnant.
The fact that the question Lisa asked was never answered in the story, and was answered in the last minute of the episode.

Another very good flashback episode, which isn't quite as good as its predecessors, BUT is still very entertaining, with a fully-developed plot and some great original gags, notably the Sperm Scene, and Patty and Selma phoning up Aaronson and Zykowski. The ending is nicely done and sappy - the good kind of sappy.

Great flashback episode. Wonderful emotions, great characterization, and spot-on humor. 7/10

One of the worst flashback episodes they've done, and still worthy of an A- from me

No way is this one of the worst flashback episodes. If anything, at least to me, it is THE best. This episode represents everything about Season 6....wacky humor, but still blended well with smart humor and satire. Lots of memorable gags ( Homer's sperm, the shotgun thing, Homer's room at work being covered with pictures of Maggie, Homer pulling out his hair when he found out Marge was pregnant 3 times). The episode truly shows Homer's love for Maggie too. It's beautiful.

I'll just post underneath Brent because he hit the nail on the head. I also think it's the best flashback episode ever. 5/5

A 3/5 episode (before the ending) with the best ending in the show's history, IMO.

    Overall, a 4/5.

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

5/5. One of the best flashback episodes.

In my mind, the worst flashback episode is Gump Roast.

Gump Roast is a clip show isn't it?

Yeah...but technically, since clip shows are full of flashbacks, I consider clip shows to be flashback episodes.

love it. A+. It's very heartwarming, as well as laugh out loud funny, and a whole episode devoted to Maggie??? You can't do much better.
