    how many seasons of the simpsons have there been and, how has there already been 310 + episodes??

    If you live in the UK, you may be surprised because over here there's six episodes per series. But in the US, it's 24.

    Sorry, but you are wrong. Sky and BBC just dont tend to show episodes in order which may confuse some people. You may get a season 3 epsiode and then a season 12 straight after.

    No, what Wezzo meant was that most American shows have 24 episodes in their yearly production run, while British made shows usually have around six episodes in a series, mainly due to the fact that there's only one or two writers in total.

    Just be glad the Region 2 DVD's aren't released as if it were a British made show..You'd never get them all.

    yeah i know its a funny show n all but too much (the extras are classic though ) i'd much rather spend an extra tenner and get a family guy dvd (although i got both of em, s3 out monday btw ) or something like that

    Yes, crazy isn't it? From 1981 to 2002, sixty-five episodes in total, with a new one this Christmas. But to be fair, they're all written by a single writer: John Sullivan.

    The advntage of having one or two writers only is that episodes are always written by the creators (except on very few occasions) so they know what the show should be like, no wacky scully type things you lot dont like. I'm sure we'd all love it if matt wrote 6 eps a season.

    That is true, the quality is consistent, and theres no out-of-character weirdness. On the other hand, fewer episodes, and maybe some creativity is stifled, since there's no other input due to the lack of other writers in the show.
