So they've rated the commentaries, but not the episodes themselves? Do they always rate the commentaries first? I'd have thought the actual episodes would've been of higher priority.
Maybe they dont bother because they already have the infomation on the episodes, I mean they've probably been rated before they air them on t.v. Or maybe they only need to rate the special features.
Still these are all good signs.
These people have a fun job

No, they definitely have to rate them before they can be released on video or DVD, so that they can be classified in order for them to be viewed by the general public.

GC is definitely right; they don't classify them before they air on TV either. They do often rate the commentaries first GC.

More stuff being rated
Firstly audio commentaries for the following....
Homer The Heretic
Kamp Krusty
Marge Vs The Monorail
New Kid On The Block
Treehouse Of Horror III
and this
PG Video 14/04/2004 Twentieth Century Fox Home Ent. 22m 7s No THE SIMPSONS - I LOVE LISA DVD additional material
Not sure what it is, perhaps deleted scenes?
It looks like the actual I Love Lisa episode, or another commentary for that episode...that seems like the kind of episode to have a bonus commentary track.

It's an extra commentary - "DVD additional material", and it's 22 mins long. Glad this is coming on so well!
So, 16 episodes' commentary done.. woo!

Thanks for the info guys I'll know in the future how to report it.
I think there's one other additonal commentary for Marge Vs the Monorail.

Hopefully.![]()
All the episode commentaries appear to have passed with no cuts made which is good, I sometimes get the impression on some commentaries, that long sections have been cut out for some reason.
I just checked snpp.com and Something seems wrong It lists 'Monorail' and 'Homer's triple bypass' as having additonal commentaries, but we seem to have one for 'I love Lisa'
Snpp seems to have got this infomation from DVD times so I can only assume DVD times is either mistaken or wasn't aware of it. hopefully its the latter and we'll end up with more additonal commentaries.

We don't have an additional commentary for I Love Lisa though.. that was just the one commentary wasn't it?
You said it was an additional commentary.....earlier on. Hey, we'll find out when they release the damn thing.
Actually.....none of those, besides Mr Plow are actually commentaries...I just checked - They're the actual episodes.

Oops.. I meant, it was the only commentary for that (thus far).
Why are they listed as "DVD audio commentary" then...?
Aw, crap. It didn't say "audio commentary" on the titles, so I assumed they weren't commentaries. Where's the little bit "Director's Commentary" at the end? It's not like it's hard to type in!
Ok this is what it said under 'I Love Lisa'
THE SIMPSONS - I LOVE LISA Video
Feature
Classified 14 April, 2004 . Run Time 22m 7s
DVD additional material,
----------------------------------------------------
Under the rest of them it says 'DVD audio commentary.'
because the length of this 'additonal material' is 22 m 7s it surley means that it is an additonal commentary, So They've probably just rated the additonal commentary before the normal one.

None of these posts mention a Season 5 release date. Disstoked by you all.
EDIT: TVshowsondvd.com is reporting that Simpsons Gone Wild will be released in the US as well this July along with the first season of Garfield and Friends.

Possibly. But it could just be the normal commentary, lots of commentaries are listed as that.Originally posted by Homer_Thompson

Only a little piece of news today (expect more tomorrow)
the audio commentary for "Lisa's First Word" has been rated and passed with a PG rating.

We're getting there...![]()
Could it be?(fifth season)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...v=glance&s=dvd
Now, keep in mind both seasons two and three were given amazon pages WAY before even being announced, and I believe the same was true of season two as well. But its worth noting anyway, plus you can always put your e-mail in there so they can tell you when its announced.
Also, there's now an item listed, set to be released on June 15th, that lets you buy seasons 1-3 as one package. I doubt its anything truly "new" though, just an Amazon marketing ploy. A similar package allows you to buy both seasons 1-3 of Simpsons and Volumes 1-3 of Futurama as a gigantic package.

Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?
Hopefully if a fifth season DVD is released, it'll be in time for Christmas. Two seasons a year is fine with me.

A fifth season by Christmas would bloomin' rock, but.. unlikely!
It'd be cool to see if the S1-3 Simpsons pack has original packaging.

The Seasons 1-3 package will undoubtedly have original packing....in my opinion anyway. If you look at the release date, it comes out the same day as Season Four, so that must mean that there's some special box holding all three together and such that is being made. Fox hopes that people will see that Season Four is out, and pick up the previous three in a new, reasonably priced set. Then again the Futurama/Simpsons set debuts the same day...and I doubt those two would have a combined package....perhaps it's just an Amazon ploy? Either way, any new fan to these series can save A LOT of money if they buy that six pack.

Exactly.. if it's an Amazon ploy, it probably won;t have original packaging.

More news!
Two special features have now been rated, they are both commercials...
Video Advertisement 19/04/2004 Twentieth Century Fox Home Ent. 0m 29s No THE SIMPSONS - THE BIG STEAL - ENGLISH KFC COMMERCIAL
Video Advertisement 19/04/2004 Twentieth Century Fox Home Ent. 0m 15s No THE SIMPSONS - BEACH HOMER WITH CRABS - BUTTERFINGER COMMERICAL
Is it just me or is the title for the butterfinger ad the funniest thing you've read?
Just about funny. If we wanted some surefire confirmation that the DVD is definitely coming, some special features that we didn't previously know about are it.
