MBB all the way. It had emotion, humor, Godfather references .. everything.

Both are excellent episodes, but Moe Baby Blues did have a pretty awful opening. Even though the rest of the episode more than made up for it, all of Special Edna was excellent with absolutely no bad parts. So Special Edna wins by a hair.

Both were great, but Special Edna's plot was just a little more "real". I mean Maggie being ejected from a car and flying right into Moe's arms was kinda weird, but it was still a great episode. But Special Edna was just a little better.

    "Moe Baby Blues" A
    "Special Edna" B+

"Special Edna" was more of a step in the right direction, but it doesn't exactly measure up to the more ambitious "Moe Baby Blues". I never felt any emotional connection to Edna and Seymour's plight in "Special Edna", for instance, something "Moe Baby Blues" flawlessly did with Moe and Maggie's relationship. Also, the central plotline of "Special Edna", Edna and Seymour getting engaged, has been done numerous times on various other television shows; and even with the "Efcot" backdrop, the dynamic here still didn't make it that distinct from the numerous others of its kind. "Moe Baby Blues" especially considering the "Godfather" allusions, is played in a more unique way, with a more unique premise.

Basically, "Moe Baby Blues" had the better offer, with more of it to offer. "Special Edna" was still good though.

Special Edna was good, but Moe Baby Blues was great. The emotion of Moe Baby Blues gave me a nostalgic feeling of old simpsons eps.

"Moe Baby Blues" was good, but "Special Edna" was not only my favorite episode of season 14, it was probably my favorite episode since season 9.

MBB beats the living daylights out of Special Edna. As Channel Surfer said, Edna and Skinners' relationship just wasn't that interesting compared to Moe and Maggie, and didn't really engage. Plus, I found Special Edna uneven at best, with some good comedic moments, but also some lame bits like Bart making the teenagers kiss, Little Richard, etc, plus a somewhat jumpy plot that for no real reason leads us to Efcot for a bunch of pointless side stuff (plus, in that regard I think the episode falls into the age old trap of doing a side character episode that features too much of the Simpsons family, since the focus should've been more exclusively on Skinner and Edna, mabye Bart too...we didn't need Homer and the rest to follow along and make witty remarks). Moe Baby Blues is a simply fantastic episode, and IMO shouldn't even be compared to this, especcially when there's better stuff to compare it to anyway.

    Oh, and...
    Special Edna: C+
    Moe Baby Blues: A+
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

While Special Edna was sound, it had lapses throughout. Lapses in humor, plotting, etc. Heartening at the time, but Jean showed us what they can really do with Baby Blues. Aside from the iffy beginning (which really doesn't detract massively) it was solid throughout in every aspect. I'm innocent to most sitcom cliches like engagements, since I don't watch a lot of TV, but it certainly wasn't as engaging as the Moe and Maggie story.

Moe Baby Blues. For once in a real long time I actually cared for the characters. Moe and Maggie's relationship was very real and it was a wonderful feeling seeing Moe's life change for now having a purpose. One of my favorites.

Looks like 'Moe. Baby Blues' is the Ultimate Episode of Season 14. When it airs in the UK (September/October) i'm sure to enjoy it!
