Ok, for those of you who may have taped the episode...

When Moe is rambling away about the Maylasian Beer (being the one that replaced Duff in the new bar), Moe is holding a bottle with a Yin-Yang symbol on it. A few seconds later, they show him holding a DUFF bottle with a greenish label. Rewind and see it for yourself...

    Insert Cliched character reply here:

HOMER: DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!! <punches ground>
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

I liked this episode alot more than last weeks.
Is Barney permenatly sober or was that justa gag?
    REM was cool!
Why does it say Executive producer Al Jean at the begining but Executive producer Mike Scully at the end?

I actually think many of you will agree with my review.
I actually thought the Halloween and last weeks episode seemed more like Family Guy. This episode wasnt as wacky, except when homer was bleeding in the bar. But I thought like starting out with one plot then changing into another was like a Simpsons thing.

But anyway i dont like Family Guy and I hope the Simpsons doesn't become Family Guy.

Maybe they had equal input in the show...

The whole thing with Bart digging was done poorly... I was just thinking about it now... approx. 1.5 hours after the showing... and it took me a few minutes to even remember why the heck that entire scene was in the show, it was pretty pointless.

But after thinking about it, I guess it was supposed to be kinda dumb, pointless, and disjointed because that part was Homer telling a bar tale. But it could have been done better... all they needed was a reason for Homer to be in Moes, and that crazy story is the only way they could figure out how to get Homer in Moes?
I've been accused of vulgarity. I say that's bullshit!

    Lighten Up

I guess I don't grade as harshly sa some of you people, or are tastes are diffrerent. I thought this was a great episode. Better than the parent rap. So many funny moments. I'm in Hawaii so I see the eps last. So forgive me for repeating other people's highlights...

Moe saying 'nice hole, nice soul'

    The bar dance.

Homer saying 'Cecil is a girls name'

Formica and the Russian girls were cool.

The unfinished 'Father give me legs' robot.

Homer singing along to/against 'end of the world'

Mike Mills not being able to piss at the urinal

    I liked.

Much, MUCH funnier than last week...nice to see them focus on someone BESIDES the Simpson family...something they do all too rarely. Yeah, it's an odd plot and all over the place, but did you ever watch a show called "Seinfeld"?? C'mon people...if you can't follow it...then...<insert empty threat>

This episode was definitely unfortunate and worse than the Parent Rap, this season's première. I thought it didn't stand up to its name, as Homer was only 'Moe' for about 5 minutes of the episode. Some parts didn't make sense either, like where Moe's professor walked in to the river and Homer, Lenny, Carl and Barney not being welcome to go to Moe's seemed a bit like something I've seen before. Anyway, I've seen better.

The prof walking into the river is a reference to the ending of "A Star is Born", a 50's movie, where, at the end, James Mason walks into a lake.

The plot was all over the place, and, sadly, the best part of the episode probably was before the first commercial break. The digging.

Can someone who taped the episode do me a quick favor? For my COmplete Guide, I need somebody to check their closed-captioning for what Homer says when he's singing with REM. I've got it all figured out except for one part:

"...birthday party, chinos, ______________ and lemonade."

I thought originally it was "poker 6 and lemonade", but I've never heard of a "poker 6" before, so, someone please help me out.

I liked it. I was glad that Bart made a prank call because I havern't seen him make one in seasons. That was a pretty funny moment. I'm pissed because I was tapping it and I ran out. Oh,well. It's not the end of the world.

I agree with flandersevil's review. However, I did find Bart's hole digging funny. The fact that his family was disturbed by Bart's pointless tedium was amusing to me.

Except for a couple of chuckles here and there it was a Simpson's craptacular.

When I first heard about this episode, I thought the plot sounded stupid, and that the episode wouldn't be that great. I'd like to follow up that thought with a "Boy was I wrong!", liked I hoped I could, but I can't. The episode was a bomb.

I liked very few things in this episode. The few things I did like, were the wiping the TV clean gag, the robot with no legs, Bart's first prank call in years (they'd better do more of these), and the fact that the Devil's Advocate pinball machine from Insane Clown Poppy made a reappearance in Homer's garage/bar. Other than maybe a few other things, the whole episode was crap. The story was all over the place, and stole ideas used in Flaming Moes and Dumbell Indemnity. To bad they used the ideas terribly this time around. Plus, most of the jokes were just stupid. The professor killing himself; what the hell was that? This isn't a halloween special. Homer cuts himself and bleeds all over; that was just disgusting, this isn't an Itchy and Scratchy episode! And the dancing in the bar part? What the hell was the point of that? R.E.M. provided few memorable jokes, and Moe's new bar was in a similar boat. As for the end, its nice that they tried to be touching, but they did so in such a poor way, I would have prefered one of the wacky endings from some of the season 10-12 episodes. Flaming Moes and Dumbell Indemnity did the touching ending thing better, as did many other episodes, including The Parent Rap. Overall, this was the worst episode aired since Simpsons Safari.

Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

The dancing on the bar was a reference to "Coyoyte Ugly." And while it was stupid, so was "Coyote Ugly," so there's the joke.

I liked the episode and wasn't bothered by Homer bleeding by the jukebox. It was just another reference to Happy Days (and I always wondered why the Fonz didn't break his hand). It's like when kids mimic stuff on T.V. and get hurt. It's just more evidence of Homer's stupidity and his inability to discern fantasy and reality.

Did anybody catch the Malaysian Beer Bottle switch, when it turned into a Duff bottle (in Moe's hand)?

it seems to me that i'm the only one that laughed the quick pace of the episode. Homer's digging a hole story was confusing at first, but when we zapped back to reality and he was telling the story to his buddies at the bar. PURE HOMER GOLD. The writers new exactly what they were doing. Homer hasn't made a lick of sense in the last 5 years, why should his story be any more coherant. Moe's discussion with the bar flies about loosing his interest was a great sequence. the college part kind of bugged me. I know that the writers want to try to bring back some of the parody humour into the episodes, but having that prof. insist he's dying then just walk into the lake didn't work for me. The fonzie routine was great, minus the extreame blood. The coyote ugly scene was funny. I like how he made Lisa cut the lemons. From homers logic, what's a bar without cut lemons?
I thought the hunting scene was going to be a bomb for an already funny but confusing episode. the cougar call saved it. I'm rambeling, it's been two days since i've seen it. overall, this was much better than the parent rap, even with it's crazy plot.

    Grade: A-

well, they could have just opened the episode with homer in moe's, they've done it before. But i like getting a good mental picture of homer. That story was odd, but funny when you realized who is telling it.

everything seems to be correct, 'cept the first name is Leonard, and you wrote takin' instead of talkin', but that's obviously a typo.

    Homer The Moe

I seriously don't see why people bad mouth new episodes this season. Homer the Moe was terrific! The whole teacher walking into the water thing was hillarious, as where the scene with Homer hunting.

Moe: "You don't like me, and I don't like you"
Lisa: "You don't like me? I like you."

Hahaha. I love it. Every moment was hillarious.

I thought it was OK, but I had much higher expectations based on the plot. There was a bar I used to go to every once and a while that did the same thing as Moes, with hilarious concequences! There were just too many dead spots. REM was actually cool, Stipe wanting to kick Homer's ass was priceless. That's not the REM way. Some of the jokes just fell flat. I liked the Parent Rap better:
