wow what a shock it was a regular episode of modern simpsons. oddly enough the writers didn't seem to care about having futurama characters. whereas simpsons guy had the writers taking advantage of the fact that they had only one chance to write other characters, the simpsons writers seemed uninterested in doing anything with the futurama cast. most of this episode just had the characters standing around making lame jokes. i expected the episode to finally kick into gear when they got sucked into the portal, but nothing happened. this felt extraordinarily hackneyed for a crossover which had tons of potential.

yeah you have some decent jokes, but it was just an episode of modern simpsons, which means who cares. very inferior to simpsons guy, which while predictable at least felt like it took advantage of the cast it was offered.

It had Futurama, but it felt like (and was) a crappy Simpsons episode. 2/5
Rest assured that I was on the Internet within minutes, registering my disgust throughout the world.

It was more of a mash-up than a crossover, which I think was great in getting rid of the canon issues.

ok my parents were pausing it just for me so i decided to watch it. it was better than expected. good combo of simps/futur characters, decent jokes, actually pretty solid story. the one big surprise is that it didn't feel too rushed. it was, obviously, but they used their 21 minutes very well. sure, leela and fry only got one or two lines, and zoidberg/amy/hermes LITERALLY only got one line, but it worked well as a crossover and it was fun to watch. not as good as simpsons guy, but good in its own right. 3.5/5, rounded to a 3 i guess

oh i also really dug the ending where  bender is thrown down into the basement because it's not a cop-out 'welp i'm goin back to earth' thing, and it can give potential for bender to show up in the regular series, though he probably won't and will probably be wasted if he does, but whatever

Definitely didn't live up to the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover. Nothing terribly memorable but not bad overall.

Some good parts some bad. Better than usual Modern Simpsons.

    3/5

Fry and Leela both should have gotten bigger parts in the story.

Still unfair to say it didn't live up to the other crossover, while the one your judging has way less screentime.

And the least you want to do is to write a decent story with plenty of character interactions, it works way better with 43 minutes. If both crossovers had the same amount of time, they could've made something great.

Not to say a 21 minute episode can't be great, but you can expect some things to be rushed.

Because it felt rushed in those 21 minutes while the other episode he compared had 43 minutes, they had the luxury to make it not seem rushed. Just seems unfair to compare.

Grrr....this needed to be an hour special. It was too rushed to have a proper crossover. Our beloved Fry, Leela, Bender, Amy Farnsworth, Hermes and the rest should've, no--NEEDED to be in an hour special. Instead of a great crossover we got a rushed Simpsons episode with the cast of Futurama being short-changed because of the restrictive run-time.

    2.5/5.

Also, the "Critic" crossover argument is isn't valid since Jay was pretty much just a guest star who just happened to wind up in Springfield with a peripheral association with the family and not to mention, it was just Jay and no one else from the Critic universe interacted with the family.

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
