This morning, when I wake up, my sisters' husband is asking me if they can borrow 20 bucks so my sister can get these pills she takes so she doesn't smoke (I swear, none of my business, but she's like addicted to them; she takes way more than her husband thinks).
I didn't have the 20 on me, so I figured they could take me to the store I work at and I could use my money card to withdraw cash.
Well apparently my sister needed the pills so badly, so they asked if they could take the card, to which I said yes.
I think that was a mistake.
The fact of the matter is if they have my card, they could be total douchbags and take as much money as they want. I don't even have much money on it, but if they take more than 20, I'm done. They ain't borrowing shit from me again.
There's also a little fact that they still owe me money, because a few months ago one of their dogs chewed up my sisters' headset and I paid for a new one, that they never paid me back. Total, they're up to like 50 bucks or so, probably more but all I can think of is 50.
I don't care about lending people money, if they pay me back. How the hell am I supposed to know if they will with this 20? Hell, how am I supposed to know if they only take 20 out of it? I'm calling the number on my card as soon as I get it, and if there's more than 20 dollars gone, I'm fucking done lending them anything.
Am I too nice? The thing that pisses me off is that they already owe me money. The husband swears up and down he'll pay me back Friday... yea, we'll see.
I know it's family and it's just money, but if there's one thing I hate, it's when people owe me money and DON'T FUCKING PAY. What, do they think I'll eventually forget? My sister works at a roadside assistance place and apparently makes a good chunk of money; it would take me like a 4-5 hour workday to earn what she earns in an hour. And she can't pay me back? Right.
So am I too nice?
