Hey, everybody. So I saw Sonata Arctica live last night at Sub89 (Reading). It was my first concert so I was rather nervous and wasn't sure what to expect. We queued for about three to four hours to make sure we were at the front. Luckily once we got in there, we were as close as can be (you can probably tell that from my photos, still...). At first I was worried that the guy wouldn't let me in, as it is an 18-only concert. He didn't want to accept my ID at first, but eventually he said he'd do it this one time. I really liked the venue; it was nice and small, but not too small... just the right size really.
Before Sonata Arctica performed, there were two other supporting bands: Norway's "Triosphere" and Italy's "Labyrinth". They were pretty good... I preffered Triosphere to Labyrinth though. Eventually, Sonata Arctica began performing. They were really great, visually as well as auditorily. It wasn't as loud as I was expecting, but it must have been pretty loud, seeing as my ears are stull ringing, almost 24 hours afterwards lol. The crowd was pretty tame, too. I was worried that when "Don't Say a Word" started, there would be some sort of mosh like there apparently was in Scotland, but it was fine. I just got pushed in the back.
My favourite performance of the night would have been Fullmoon. Perhaps it's a biased opinon, I don't know... I just love that song to death! Anyway, I really enjoyed myself a lot, and I really hope that they play in Reading again, as it's easier for me to get there than London. I'd definitley go again, or to another artist. I just hope Nightwish do a tour soon... that'd be excellent!! So to close, here's a few more photographs and a short video:
