Thank you, and yeah, I think I need to rewatch Seasons 2 and 3. I've never really held them in as much regard as Seasons 6 and 7, which remain my favourite. I do like Lisa's Substitute, but in terms of favourites from the season, I prefer Blood Feud (probably due to nostalgia - it was one of the first episodes I owned on vhs), Itchy and Scratchy and Marge and One Fish Two Fish.
As more more blog posts, I will probably try and do one per week, though I don't know if I will (the one this weekend will probably be about top five favourite musical moments - not as interesting).

Good list don't particularly agree with most of it but that doesn't matter. Sort of disappointing that no episodes from season 2 made your list as it is the best season and filled with many classics. Lisa's Sub doesn't even garner a spot on your list? Crazy! The one I severely disagree with you on is Lisa the Vegetarian. I mean it's a decent Lisa character episode but it really jump started Lisa's extreme character change and nowhere close to even other Lisa episodes in season 7(Iconoclast/Summer). I look forward to more blog posts/posts in general from you.

    Thank you.
With 'Homie the Clown', there are problems with Homer's motives and the abrupt (but still very funny) conclusion. However, I find it hard to ignore that the episode is very, very funny, so I have to give it a high position.

Nice list; None of these are on my list of 15, and you've got me questioning why.
You have defined 'Homie the clown' perfectly.

Thank you, and yes - with the rake scene, they were meant to 'drag the joke out so that it is no longer funny, and then drag it out even longer to make it funny again'. They dragged the joke out until it was no longer funny, but it didn't become funnier again by dragging it out for even longer.

I loved the top choice episode. It's actually the first episode of "The Simpsons" I ever saw, and it was adorable. Pretty good list (I agree about not liking the rake joke from "Cape Feare"...it went on for way too long.

I don't know...I don't like the story, the reaction of Marge... And I don't find this episode very funny.

I can see that 'He's already dead' might not be a universaly liked line, but I'm interested to know why you dislike 'Marge Be Not Proud'.

I disagree with you for Marge Be Not Proud (Am I the only one who don't like this episode ?) and Homie the Clown with the famous "He is already dead" that I hate.
    Nice top ten nevertheless.

Thank you guys. I can already think of something I might change though - swapping around the positions of 'Homie the Clown' and 'The Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show' - I feel that the latter is a more complete episode. I agree about your comment about Marge being written especially well.

Nice list. You had a good mix of the wackier stuff and the more down to earth stuff. I definitely agree with you on Marge Be Not Proud. That episode doesn't get enough love in general, because it really is a fantastic episode. Marge in particular is written extremely well.

I agree with many of your choices.
You have very good taste in episodes.
Good job on the top ten.
