the kidz bop version of float on is up on some site, and its pretty funny...
What really gets me about that, is what's the point? None of the lyrics are changed. I thought for sure they'd take out the fake Jamaican/scam part, but they don't -- and there's even an excited "YEAH!" afterwards. The hell? I always thought the point of the Kidz Bop series was to sanitize popular songs that parents would find objectionable otherwise. But this is just the same song with truly awful vocals and playing...
Still totally funny, though.

Where on earth did you find that? The album hasn't been leaked, has it? It's not up at Oink's or Indietorrents, anyway...

should have mentioned it was a live version.
about six tracks or so are available as mp3s at acid casualties.
decemberists - mariner's revenge (sam's in toronto already had the cd on sale yesterday...:D)
quasi - it's raining (is it just me are they unmentioned/underloved etc outside of a select few? sure they get mention, but deserve more..can do many genres pretty nicely)
hood - any hopeful thoughts arrive
magnetic fields - it's only time
east river pipe - we're going to nowhere (anyone else love east river pipe? i only have mel on disc and mp3s so far)
quasi - it's raining (is it just me are they unmentioned/underloved etc outside of a select few? sure they get mention, but deserve more..can do many genres pretty nicely)
my roommate has that album, so I was able to bum it off of him and burn it. haven't had a chance to listen to it all, but that track in particular is quite good.
Neutral Milk Hotel - Love You on a Tuesday
Ben Folds - Bitches Ain't Shit
The Police - One World (Not Three)
Blind Melon - Soak the Sin
Pixies - Gigantic
you're preaching to the choir re: quasi. I've been tooting that horn for years.
sword of god is far from their best. get featuring birds and field studies posthaste.
i know theyve been loved here muchly, and i give all credit to yourself and others for turning me onto them, was just mentioning that theyre underappreciated in general. and i have both those, as well as the fun/lofi "early recordings" comp. =)
and id rank them thusly (from what i have):
featuring birds
field studies
sword of god
early recordings
