well...every version is different..no 2 sound the same. that the point of jam bands b/c everything is spontaneous and Improvised...

try telling someone in the jam band scene that the Bathtub Gin from 9-17-93 was any where as good as 8-26-98...it would be like me walkiung into an indie punk store and saying the Doors were much more important then the Stooges...

someone having a bad day Lee? :)

Please pick up Wire's 'Pink Flag' or 'Chairs Missing' I hear a lot of Wire in some of REM's stuff (and not just because of their cover of 'Strange').

From their site:
Les Fauves
A group of French artists characterized by the rejection of form. The outraged contemporary reaction gave them their name-Les Fauves, the wild beasts.

Lawnboy... while calling NAIHF REM's best album of the 90s may be a bit of a stretch (Out of Time, Automatic for the People), it's not by a whole lot. A great, great album that too many people missed the first time around. Lots of special goodness there.

I really don't know Out of Time very well...but NAIHF is and was the first album from them that I could listen from start to finish and not skip a single track. Monster was fair and had it's moments and Automatic is a classic but there was still one or two songs that got skipped for me. While there may be more solid tracks on AFTP, Monster, or OOTime, I think NAIHF is more solid as a complete album...but that's just my opinion. ;-Q

so i was listening to the radio today from my way home from school and this song comes on that was very catchy. all i remember about the song was that it kept saying "around, around arooooooooooooound" or something like that. when the song finished the announcer said what sounded like "[name of song in question]...by hot hot heat.." Im not sure if the dj was talking about that song or one before it.

so, my question is, does anyone know of a song that goes like "around around aroooooooound" as part of it's chorus? and is it by hot hot heat? or was i just hallucinating ?

That's because you post one or two horribly shitty songs twice daily instead of reading the rules like a good lad and comprehending said rules. You're supposed to post your five songs of the week ONCE A WEEK, not two amazingly horrible songs TWICE A FUCKING DAY. Now, I myself don't post in this thread, but I like to read the posts and try out new music from the MNK, and your posts are just so out of place and god-awful. Next time I see you posting two bad songs twice a day instead of at least five halfway decent songs once a week, I'm either going to delete your post or edit it to something hilariously funny to us, but embarrassing to you. Got it? Good.

Thanks.

Wow, I knew someone had to say it, I just wasn't expecting it to be Skittelbrau.

I have no idea why brockman1988 has the inability to just post 5 songs a week [in one post]. Through warnings I was able to make him cut back from his average 15 songs per week a few months ago.

awesome, he rocks. :D

oh, and toxic, that happens to me a lot too. i mistakenly downloaded a song the other day and it was mislabeled to say:

radiohead - video killed the radio star

when clearly, there was no radiohead there. that bothers me. that's why from now on i listen to every song for a few seconds before i download the whole thing.

yeah, kazaa has alot of bad points, but its still usable. anyway, thought id post this here rather then make a new thread about it.

there are two shwos being played in detroit this month, and i wouldnt mind going to either. first one would be Ben lee w/fountains of wayne and second one would be the eels. assuming i get enough cash to go to one of them, which should i go to? i ask this because ive never heard anything from ben lee, so i was wondering, is he any good?

here's a sure-fire fix, faggots -- don't use kazaa. actually, if your taste in music sucks, don't use soulseek either, as it defeats the purpose for the rest of us.

I would see Eels. Fountains and Lee have many years left in them, and I get the feeling that E will be hanging up his mic sometime in the next 5 years. call it women's intuition.

anyway, Lee is worth checking out. Something to Remember Me By and Breathing Tornadoes are each great albums in their own right. Find and download the songs "Cigarettes will kill you" and "Away with the Pixies" to get an idea of his sound. Gotta love them Aussies.
