That's right! Another new episode airs tonight! In case you need a refresher, here's a brief episode sypnosis from SNPP.com.
The Springfield Friars Club roasts Homer, with clips from past episodes..."but don't call it a clip show".
Post your thoughts on the episode here.

Terrible, terrible episode. Worst of the clip-shows. Only good part was the song at the end.

Ok, now that it's aired on the east.
I'm never a big fan of clipshows, but this one was ok. It could have been worse, but overall, not too bad.
"These are not tears. We are vomiting from our eyes"
The ending song started cool, but ended lame.

Worst clip show ever. Normally i dont complain about inconsistancies and whatnot but..how the hell does Maggie remember stuff she wasnt there to see? Im not a fan of these clip shows to begin with, and i thought all singing all dancing was the worst episode ever, but i think weve found a new challenger.

Well, not much to comment on in that episode. I hated to have to be reminded of all the newer episodes that seemed to be on most of the clips, however, other than the opening sequence (screaming homer) and the third act (without the song), it seemed A-Ok to me.
Probably the best clip show so far, and I also thing the voice acting and "cartooning" (drawing) was right on par.

It was good, considering it was a clip show, had some funny parts... but personally a clip show can't be more of a 3/5... and 3/5 it deserves.
It was not as bad as the 2nd and 3rd clipshows.

A terrible, terrible episode, 2nd worst of the season after "Homer the Moe". It was full of contrived and idiotic dialogue tailored to fit the clips, unrealism, annoying filler, flat and stupid humor, and useless meta-humor. D-.

How about we skip the standard "It's a clip show, it smells like crap" type of thing. Seriously, vote and don't post if that's all you think.
Yes, the episode did poke fun of itself, but I thought it was wonderful. Having them reuse mr. Burns excellent, Nelson's laugh and dr Hibbert three times was perfect.
Clips could have used a bit better choosing though.

Perhaps the most boring episode ever. (Considering of course, that us Simpsons geeks have seen all those clips in their original eps hundreds of times, so it loses the entertainment value for us like it won't for the casual viewer.)
The old material was ok, but some of the clips went on WAAAAAAY too long, especially the clip from DIsh Upon a Star. The new material in the first two acts seemed almost like old material. Another Wiggum reveals an undercover operation joke, color me unimpressed.
The final act was the "highlight", if there was such a thing. Kang and Kodos turning out to be Biblical literalists, claiming the world was only 5000 years old....that was probably the best joke, which is sad. Kang and Kodos also are somewhat amusing at the People's Choice awards, speculating about an "Evening Shade" reunion episode.
The episode is only worth watching for the song at the end, which was hilarious, IMHO. Other than that, nothing at all is to be gained from seeing this episode. Quite possibly the worst episode ever.
1/10
The song was the definite highlight of the episode. all the clips were some good ones. the actual episodes was pretty bad. The forrest gump bit was good but the roast was terrible. 2.5/5

why not? That is a valid complaint. Also, as said before it wasnt done as good as some of the other clip shows, the april fools one comes to mind. But fine, if you want me to comment on its non clip merits...well it didnt have much. I thought the beginning was rather stupid...more physical Homer 'humor'. The roast itself was decent, but hardly enough to salvage the episode itself. The song at the end was ok, but the chorus on it ruined it. Either way you look at it, this episode was simply not that great.

Yeah, I agree. Don't say it sucks simply because its a clip show. IMO, this was one of best clip shows theyve done. Way more entertaining than All Singing, All Dancing.
A gave it a B. I would have given it an A, but the 3rd segment, although funny, annoyed me because it actually introduced Kang and Kodos into a regular episode. How could they do that?? Boo!!
I loved the song at the end, and you could tell they did it to make fun of us loser fans! Brilliant!!
Didya notice how Agnes Skinner's dress was a parody of J.Lo's?? Gross, yet funny.
PS: The reason they used so many newer clips is because most of the older clips were already covered in previous clip shows.
Don't compare this episode to normal ones. Its a clip show, take it for what it is.

As clip shows go, it was enjoyable. The best clip shows are ones that have a good plot where the clips flow with the story naturally (So It Comes To This) or have excellent commentary about the series in general (138th Episode Spectacular, Behind the Laughter). The worst clip shows use extremely long clips and just slap them together in 5 minutes to make the episode (Another Simpsons Clip Show, All Singing All Dancing). This episode was in the midle. For some reason, it didn't really bother me that Kang and Kodos were in the episode.

Dear Lord. A clip show was bad enough, but Kang and Kodos in an episode like this? Sigh...well, they weren't THAT bad. Gave us a few jokes "Turn it to channel 3!"
I would vote for 1/5, but a few good jokes here and there and the song at the end barely raised its rating to 2/5. Lousy episode overall.
The ad for the next episode makes me sceptical. Hopefully, that's just FOX's way of promoting the episode, and not what it's really about.

I'm having a hard time even rating it, and I'm surprised I'm the only one. I didn't think it was very good, but I have a hard time saying it was BAD because it was made up of a lot of funny moments from past episodes which I have seen thousands of times, so I just couldn't find too funny again. So,I'm giving it a neutral rating of 3/5, as it's still much better than "Another Simpsons Clipshow" and "All Singing, All Dancing".
And I can't be the only one who thinks the beiggest problem with the episode was HOW LONG THE CLIPS WENT ON FOR!! Here are clips that could have been much shorter to make room for more clips:
- Homer and Marge dancing for the motorcycle
- Homer singing the Max Power song
- Homer parasailing
- Homer building the barbecue pit
- Homer stealing Funzos (DID THEY REALLY NEED TO SHOW BOTH HOUSES??)
If those were cut in half, they could have added more Homer singing (singing while flossing, singing Bawitaba, singing while high, etc)
But still, they got in a lot of good clips, but could have been better. kang and Kodos didn't bug me, and it was nice to see them have such a big part after their small spots in the last three THOHs.
And tell me you also noticed that the clip from "Dumbbell Idemnity" didn't involve the Simpsons car, but rather Moe's.

This was a standard clip show, which IMHO can't score more than a 3.5/5 ("All Singing, All Dancing" recieved that score).
However, this one had the *worst* third act ever to air. This is the kind of episode that was *so* bad and *so* messed up continity-wise that one just has to look the other way and pretend it never happened. (Much like "The Blunder Years")
The first two acts recieve a 3/5. The last act deserves a 0/5.
Overall: 2/5. :(
Fourth worst episode of the season, in front of "The Blunder Years" (0/5), "Homer the Moe" (1/5), and "Blame it on Lisa" (1/5).
Renew my faith next week, Holy One! I beseech you! Please, Lord Al Jean! Renew my faith!

I agree, the clips were uneven in length. If they had cut some of them down, they really could have included a lot more, which would have made the episode better.

This episode was so lame. It was so boring and the jokes looked like they wearn't even trying.
They didn't bother telling us why they were roasting Homer. I mean the Friars Club is a club of comedians if I'm not mistaken or a club of some kind of entertainers. Second of all how was there a camera that caught all these events in their lives.
I have a theory about this episode. I think this episode was the last wacky episode. I was a clip show, showing some of the wackiest events in the show. I think they purposely made it so wacky that this will be the last crazy episode, what with Kang and Kudos in the episode. Maybe the Maggie clips are a sign of things to come in future episodes. Maybe not, but one can dream.

Is there some bitter hostility going on here or what?
Is it the fact that we are all getting older, plus the unevitable truth that the series may be running it's last lap that makes for all this bad talk?
What happened to actually enjoying an episode rather than bashing every act in it?
Man, I have to say I'm dissapointed with how many of you have reacted to this episode. Just enjoy it for the fact alone that it is the simpsons.

It wasn't that bad for a show w/a lot of flash backs...a lot of good laughs with some of the old stuff. Those who say it was the worst and/or rated it a "1" are being a little too rough on it. As a look back/clip show, it was pretty good.
Interestingly enough, it made me think of the final Seinfeld episode...when the flashbacks showed how awful they were...but the song indicated that the Simpsons' writers had stories for years...so instead of a swan song...it was a cygnet song(?).

After thinking about it more, this episode was not very good. But I don't care, I had fun watching it and it brought back a lot of memories.
This would have been SO much better if it was just a 23 minute parody of Forrest Gump. Homer sitting on the bench waiting for something, talking to everyone that sits at the bench about events in his life. That would have been soo much better.

Because it was one short joke in the former. They weren't involved in the plot, and their appearence didn't distract from the episode.
And you know why it was alright for them to be in the latter. It was an episode that existed outside the show's reality, much like the THOH episodes, so it was acceptable.

Behind the Laughter was just a joke episode. There was nothing real about it. I felt Kang in The Springfield Files was acceptable (and funny) in that episode, since it was told like a story. Kang and Kodos appearing in tonight's episode was all that bad of an idea, but it did seem a little awkward to have them.

Many people have complained about this before. We all have our own personal thoughts, opinions, and feelings, and we react to things in different ways. Besides, I've heard way to many an argument about "It's the Simpsons, so it's good". That isn't always true.
Oh yeah, that reminds me. During the very beginning of the song at the end, there was a still of Homer water-skiing off a ramp with a shark at the surface of the water, waiting for him. Was this just created for this episode, or was it actually used before?

The song at the end wasn't too amazing. It was funny, but it didn't exactly follow the tune of Billy Joel's song well. The chorus didn't sound even close to his song.
As for the episode, half of the new material worked. The rest was old. Clips dragged. Grade: 2/5
I never thought it would happen, but after the last five or six episodes, Season 13 may become the worst ever imo. They may have stories for years, but they sure don't have the laughs or realistic characters anymore.

As for people who say theyre sick of people bashing episodes...Are you saying youve NEVER said an episode was bad? You liked it, thats your opinion, i didnt thats mine. I dont complain when people bash an episode i like, so at least have the common courtesy to let others speak their mind without saying it makes you sick...
As for the song...I said before it was good, but its not enough to make an episode. Again, i just dont much care for clip episodes. Travelling down memory lane is good for a series finale, but to repeatedly do it is pointless. Although i will say this, if they ever did a clip show using clips that were cut in syndication I would fully support it. There are some great scenes that are never shown before and many people may not have seen them...use those clips.

I would give this episode a 3/5. I liked all of the clips, Kang and Kodos' appearance really didn't bother me, and the song was great. However, I agree with the person who said they should have stayed with the Forrest Gump parody. The Roast itself didn't seem right. Also, to the person wondering about the still of Homer jumping over the shark, it was joke commenting on how many people believe that The Simpsons have "jumped the shark." If you do not know what that term means, it is a reference to a Happy Days episode in which the Fonz water skiied over a shark. Many people pointed out this as the the downslide of the show and it became crap. Jumping the shark is used alot for TV shows. You can go to the website www.jumpingtheshark.com and see what the Internet community feels has jumped the shark.

Anyone notice Homer's "That was at my expense, what kinda roast is this?" wasn't as whiny in the actual episode as shown in the commercial?
And SOMEBODY PLEASE help me figure out who I can put in my character bio for my Guide for this episode. Don't say Kang and Kodos, cuz I have them in "Behind the Laughter" already.

Man, I have to say I'm dissapointed with how many of you have reacted to this episode. Just enjoy it for the fact alone that it is the simpsons.

Well what can I say about this episode that hasn't been said before?
It wasn't that great. I don't understand how some of you people are saying it "brang back memories"? About 3-4 clips from older episodes doesn't bring back memories for me, this episode just brought back painfull memories of bad episodes, but maybe that's what people meant in the first place.
The song was funny and those stories could possibly be told on day. (shudder).
I don't wanna dive too deep into episodes because that just ruins it. I like to just take an episode for what it is, laugh a little and forget about it.

3/5. Difficult to rank a clip-show, but this was better than "All Singing All Dancing" and "Another Simpsons Clip Show." Loved the repetitive laughing scenes... had me cracking up more each time. And without the fantastic song at the end I probably would've rated this 2/5. First act was the best.
Seeing Kang & Kodos was indeed a little awkward, but who says they can't exist in a land filled with evil elf-like jockeys and mops that eat things?
Yes, Tomacco, also noticed right away that it was Moe's car that Homer was driving. Classic scene though! Heh.

Ah...you can only expect so much from a clip show. Nothing can dethrone "So its Come to This...." but I think this was a bit better then "Another Simpsons Clip Show" and a bit below "All Singing..." It had its problems:
Too many clips from newer episodes
On that note, too many of the episodes clips came from (When You Dish, Homer to the Max, etc) were horrible.
Many clips went on too long
It had its merits though
The Forest Gump thing (I thought it was clever)
Despite the episodes they came from, all the clips, sans Lucy Lawless, were funny
Kang and Kodos (they were funny in this one, and it was forgiveable anyway since this episode obviously isn't part of normal continuality)
The song at the end
Some other things....
Overall this was a decent trip down memory lane with some decent original material as well. It certainly has its problems, but I enjoyed it, and seeing the full "Splashmore" clip for the first time was nice.

definaitly the worst of the clip shows, i gae it a 3/5. why? well, the clips were good, lots of funny clips, but the plot was retarted. atleast the other clips shwos plots made sense(homers coma, renting a musical, etc) but this jus made no sense. i agree with whoever said "how can maggie remeber stuff she wasnt there for" whats with that? the song was decent. id di l;iek how they used the "stock footage" or hibert burns and nelson.
ps, why does everyone hate all singing? the simpsons sosngs are funny as hell, that was a damned great clip ep

i liked the Max Power song from Homer To the Max. It is a perfect Goldfinger parody. They probably shoulda taken out the whole singing thing with Homer and put in my clips. They coulda shown Homer's baseball experience instead of just showing him dancing and singing for food form Hungry Hungry Homer.

Yes! I meant to mention that. I am so glad that they used a different take in the real episode. It sounded much more normal.
EVERY single clip was hilarious and reminded me just how good the show is. Even the recent clips were brilliant. In terms of being a clip show, this had the best clips out of all of the previous ones.
The part of the episode that wasn't clips was the worst written shit ever. Don't let Dan within reach of a computer ever again.

What can I say? It wasn't a good episode. It wasn't a bad episode. I'll give it a neutral 3/5. The new material was complete crap. The clips were best. The song at the end was the only good new material.
Do you think they re-recorded Homer's whiny "That was at my expense." line to satisfy us fans? I also noticed Maggie sounded like Nancy C. instead of the original Liz Taylor saying "Daddy." Who knows.

Jake, I don't want everyone to agree. I just don't like it when "fist-fights" break out due to differing opinions.
Methinks the mods should delete those posts which instagate such fights. Those who complain about every single episode since season nine with nothing positive to say and those who praise an episode with 5/5 or A+++ ratings just because it's the Simpsons should have that posts deleted.

Although I found your post funny, I have to disagree with you that they had no satire in this episode. I have list:
-award shows: (The People's Choice/Daytime Emmy's)
-roasts in general: if you've seen those infomercials with the old Dean Martin roasts.
-J. Lo.: or Jennifer Lopez to some.
-The Smothers Brothers: the whole Rev. Lovejoy and Flanders bit was entirely based on this duo.
-and of course Forrest Gump.
Now I didn't think this was a great or even good episode, however to say that there was absolutely no humor or satire is being just a bit too cynical. Although I agree that some cynicism is an OK thing. Contrary to popular belief there are actually bad episode of The Simpsons.

High 3/5
My only problems with the episode, outside of it being a clip show, were it felt jolted(clips were too long) and The celebrity clip-collection.
High points were the Song, the Agnes Dress bit, the Choking collection, and the Laugh-Track
Side Question:Was the end song performed by Dan? I know he has a CD out, and it sort of sounded like that type of music...
So it came and passed. Well, I liked the first act a lot. Not too long, funny parody to start with. Moe as Austin Powers? :( That was really disturbing. I loved it but I just could not stomach it. It's weird how that works. I also think that they started off with the great clip, it was perfect for this ep. Oh and also, before the ep started there were many people that knew about the feather stabbing Homer in the eye and him screaming in that hysterical way. A lot of them immediately slammed the sight gag for being used only to get cheep laughs and the overuse of Homer's whiny hysterical screaming that many don't seem to like. I actually think it was OK. The screaming was kept to a minimum and they repeated it - which was funnier than if he screamed for a half a minute.
The second act was pretty week for me, even considering that it is
a clip show. What brought it down the most was a very poor clip selection. Instead of selecting the clips that presented the Homer's greatest achievement they presented the worst of his character. Funny part was the Nelson, Dr. Hibbert and Burns laughing three times.   Also somebody already said that the ep did a pretty good parody on award shows and how people's acts are so fake on stage. I totally agree with this.
Third act was interesting, not very good but not too bad either. I guess since there was a K&K appearance that means that this ep falls into the category with Bible Stories and Behind the Laughter. They were pretty funny. I laughed at the vomiting from the eyes joke. I like when they lead you toward one conclusion and crack a joke at something with actually giving you something totally different. Like the crow bar joke from Weekend at Burnsies. Getting back to the final act, I usually love when Maggie gets more screen time, but tonight it was not done very well. I like the first set of clips, but it had nothing to do with the flow of the ep. And how does she remember the celebrities when she was not present with, I think, any of them.
The final song??? Great finish, great clips, great song and just absolutely hilarious. Wow, I really loved it. Does anyone have a clip of it?
Well it lacked laughs and had a pretty bad clip selection. K&K were good but should stick with THOH. It actually had a couple of quality parts but unfortunately they were drowned in the sea of dull filler. I gave it a 3/5 but only because of the really good first act and absolutely perfect song at the end.
What a but Agnes in a J.Lo's dress? Man I laughed at that quite a lot but as she stayed on screen longer and longer I realized how disgusting that really was. When you think about it, she was perfect for that parody (or gag).

one of the funniest parts were the clips of Homer choking Bart. I have a theory that this is supposed to be the end or sign that this could be the end to the wacky episodes. I mean, this episode was to wacky with Kang and Kudos on and everything, it was like one last fling of wackiness. Might the Lisa clips be a sign of things to come, or is this just wishful thinking. I'll have to look at the synopsis of season 14, but I think this is a reasonable theory.

I doubt it. They've poked fun at their own wackiness before in ways that almost seemed like they were speaking to the anti-wacky fans. They mocked the farout plot of "Principal and the Pauper" in BTL...and don't forget the sequence at the end of the Spinoff Showcase, "Magic powers....wedding after wedding after wedding...and did somebody say long lost triplets?!" As they've done that sort of joke before, and the show didn't change before, I doubt it will now. Not that I care, I'm all for wackiness. Marge becoming a robot? Bring it on!!

I just finished watching this episode and i have to agree that it was a dud even for a clip show. Their was definitely some cool things in the show such as Moe as Austin Powers, although it also had stuff that didnt work such as Hibbert as Darth Vader what was up with that. Also agnes as JLO shudder as for Kang and Kodos it was kind of weak for the most part but their was some funny stuff. What ticked me off the most though was the fact they brought up a roast at all, in my opinion the show would have been better if homer did the gump thing the whole time, imagine it people come up he tells about his past experiences etc it could also work in having the old stuff relate to the new stuff kind of like it did in the valentine days clipshow but they ran this ep instead so thats that. Next week Homer becomes angry when Skynet systems sends back in time a robotic marge to eliminate the biggest creator of dirt in the house Homer, also Homer takes a double doggie dare bet at the plant and develops hulk like powers all next week on FOX

Well the Smothers Brothers spoof with Rev. Lovejoy & Flanders bumped it up to a 4 for me, as I am a big Smo Bro fan...I thought that was hilarious! Though sadly, 3/4 of the people here probably don't even know who they are. Agnes' dress was great in a disturbing sort of way, it's always good to see Kang & Kodos, and Lisa wasn't nearly as annoying as she has been in recent years! A nice little diversion.

The "Forrest Gump" ripoff was hilarious (I liked the feather thing), and the Friar's Club roast was full of memorable moments, including the reused laughs, Agnes's dress, and Krusty's "I gotta get to the hot wings before the Comic Book Guy." I loved the gread diversity of clips, and personally, I felt Kang and Kodos were hilarious. Of course, the song at the end was the main highlight. 5/5!

Not since Troy McClure said the Simpons would continue to air "so long as it remains profitable (?)" have we been privy to such a promise to keep going. That's the headline of this show. Wa Hoooo!
It was a cruise-control episode, sure. But far more important than my particular enjoyment during the 19 or 20 minutes of it was the we've got stories for years chorus in the song.
A clip show is a pat on the back, a stroll down memory lane. I agree that for the viewer who sees the show less often it was a great piece. For me, the familiarity of the clips and seeing them together for the first time helped me appreciate the overall richness of the Simpsons. I watched with a relatively new viewer who enjoyed the clips and wanted to know more about the shows they were from.

Doing Jake's job: So, because I have opinions, I'm like Comic Book Guy? You may note I've had favorable opinions of some things which others hated ("The Blunder Years", "Jaws Wired Shut").

sorry but this is taking it way to seriously saying how did they get cameras for all these events? its a freaking animated television show. instead of nitpicking every detail why not just enjoy the show. yes some episodes are good and others are bad and othere down right awful but to sit here and nitpick every small detail when throughout the series its always been like that is just stupid.
Maggie is the most underused member of the family, would you agree? So they start showing clips of her memories and im thinking good, id love to see some of the better maggie moments. Then after a few clips with her they switch to elton john and whatnot? Those should have been maggie clips, and not only was she not in them...she wasnt even there to witness them! You dont think that is a vilid complaint?
As for cameras at the events...i already said, Willie likes to videotape everything, lets just assume that and be happy. The criticism of homer saying he and his car had many memories...then showing a clip of him in moes car. Well...im not sure that was a criticism as much as a did you notice type thing.
These 'nitpickings' are valid, especially the maggie one. If people were complaining because someone magically switched shoes between scenes...that would be different. But all the nitpicks ive seen were rather obvious things and were valid to comment on.
Jonah: You synopsis is very, very short! And the song is full of spelling errors! Sidehsow Bob? buddhist (capital 'B')

I agree totally with the idea that this clipshow was a pat on the back episode, that's meant for a fun look down memory lane. That's why I could barely review it. You have to look at this differently from a normal episode.
And thanks all for pointing out my Guide mistakes! Not a week goes by that I don't make a mistake in my Guide. ;)

They could've very easily made a joke about the flashback with Moe's car. All it would've taken is after the clip, Homer saying, "Wait, that was Moe's car." I would've laughed at that.

Now I have been a devoted Simpsons fan ever since the first episode. And though I do think the writers deserve some credit concidering how many seasons they have made it through, that episode was pretty bad. I have to agree that the song saved the episode, almost made it worth it. I say they bring back Conan to write. If nothing else, I hope he at least writes for the movie!!!

I defenitely think that this was the worse of the season. Although most of the clips were really good, most of the new stuff was just horrible. For not being an actual writer, Castalleneta(sp?) did an OK job on the script, but lets hope they never let him write another episode ever again.
There were some good parts(not including the clips), but overall, it was a terrible episode. I would have given this one an F, but the song at the end was really, really good, and I hate to diss the Simpsons so...

Conan O'Brien also wasn't the best short-term writer. His plots weren't that great most of the time, and were kind of tiring or gimmicky. Also, the jokes were uneven, but occasionally hilarious. Frank Mula was a much better writer who wrote very few episodes. His "I Love Lisa" was twice as good as "Marge vs. the Monorail" (Conan's best), "The Last Temptation of Homer" was as good as the other two O'Brien shows combined, and "Faith Off" was as good as "Homer goes to College". Brent Forrester ("Homer vs. Patty and Selma", "Lemon of Troy", "Homerpalooza") is probably just slightly better than Conan.

I love lisa isnt better than marge vs. the monorail(although i once thought it was).
Conans new kid on the block was pretty bad.
Homer goes to college was very funny but as has been stated it was sorta the start of annoying homer(probably not though).
Anyway if you want good writers just look at Jon vitti,Earlier john swartzwelder and greg daniels.

<Sigh>
I'm really disappointed... not only in the episode, but for the fact that so many people liked it. I actually laughed...out of unbelief that it had come to this. It was long, maniacal, bitter laughter.
Kudos to Jake for taking a very good, fair-handed stance on the issue.
It would be a waste of my time to rant and rage about how disgusted I am at the shameless parodying of "Forrest Gump" and "Austin Powers," or how silly the premise of the town's roast of Homer was. But that isn't what my problem was with the episode. I just could not find any inkling of effort in any of the jokes, save for the bit about the Milhouse roast, and the song at the end(those were actually funny). I've somehow managed to block out everything else.
I sound like a cliche, like an overzealous critic who's out to laud his opinions over others, but I'm not. I seriously tried to watch this episode without a mindset of what to expect, but I only lasted 5 minutes before my hand found the remote.
I honestly believe the episode was/is an insult to the movies it parodied, an insult to the episodes featured, and an insult to the loyal fans of the show (from whom I may soon respectfully remove myself). It saddens me that some of you didn't notice it. I'm also in awe of those of you who disliked it as much as I did, but still stuck it out (the lone gunmen would have been proud).
Thank you for your time.

DO NOT SPEAK LIGHTLY OF THE GREAT CONAN, OR HE SHALL EAT YOUR KITTENS!!!
But seriously, I think all his episodes are funny as all get out. In fact, I've laughed hard in every single episode except for ones in season 11 and the last one, and only a few from this one.

'meh' You guys can't be too anal (heehee) about clip shows. But truth be told, this one sucked. There were practically no roasts and it was just uneven. The only part that made he giggle was Agnes' dress and maybe the choking scenes. The song at closing was nice. So yeah, it sucked, but it was a clip show so, "meh'

This episode wasn't bad, but also wasn't good. I was kinnda disapointed seeing how Dan Castellaneta wrote this episode, i thought he would do more with it. Having Kang and Kodos in the episode was a terrible idea, they arn't supposed to leave the realm of the "Treehouse of Horrors". Oh well, at least it was way better that the last clip show "All Singing, All Dancing", now that was a piece of crap right there.

Hey there, everyone...I'm new here, but expect to see me a lot more often from now on. I've been reading quite a few threads over the past few weeks, but it wasn't until recently that I decided to actually register. So hi, there.
Anyway, I found "Gump Roast" to be a decent episode. True, a lot of it felt disjointed and shallow, but it gave me a lot of laughs (mainly because I hadn't seen most of those episodes that the clips were from).
Some good parts include the choking montage, Moe as Austin Powers (so STRANGE...yet funny), the laughing from the crowd, Kodos and Kang's "Turn it to channel 3!", Agnes's Jennifer Lopez dress (funny, but nauseating after awhile) and ESPECIALLY Sideshow Mel's comments on it, Grampa's rambling then falling asleep, and of course, the song at the end (jumping the shark, Moe gets a cell-phone, Marge as a robot! Good stuff).
However, aside from the above parts and the clips, most of it wasn't too spectacular. The feather was alright, and so was the vomiting-from-eyes gag, but a lot of other stuff just kinda sat there. Good laughs, but a surprising amount of flat jokes get this a 3.5/5 from me. I was generous and gave it a 4, since I actually like clip shows.

Actually, Kang or Kodos appeared in The Springfield Files, and both of them were in Behind the Laughter. They weren't used for this long in an episode before, though.

I find this pretty hard to believe. Sure, everyone has different oppinions -- but best of Season 13? Oh well, who am I to judge -- my favorite is "Weekend at Burnsies" which many here seem to dislike.

Worst of the clip shows, was not funny apart from a few clips but even they seemed strung together very quickly. It was a terrible episode that had no direction and I hated Kang and Kodos being in a non Treehouse of Horror
Good song by Dan Castellaneta though
