Who else is looking forward to this?

The original wasn't great, nor were the cash grab sequels, but they had their good points.

It will be interesting to see what they do with it, considering the first one didnt even have Jason in it, the star of the Friday the 13th series.

I love the old school slasher films and look forward to seeing it as I did with Halloween (which despite what people say about it, it was still WAY better then the last seven or so "proper" Halloween movies).

Weak trailer, but the final shot is great.

i think it doesn't look so bad, but i'm little bit sceptic when it comes to remakes like this.

jim's right, that's a dull trailer until the last ten seconds. longer/more violent comic-con version was better.

That last shot of the trailer would almost be enough for me to go see it. That was pretty damn cool

jason chasing/killing some girl

yeah that was amazing and certainly never seen in any of the previous dozen films

Yeah, I love the Friday the 13th series and theres something to be said for the slow moving zombie Jason, but that shot was great, it was cool to see Jason in action. That alone will ensure my ticket to the film.

so Im guessing Jason in the remake will be the backwoods psycho of the first couple and not the undead skeletal zombie of the later films.

I don't mind the outfit, except in the trailer it looked a little baggy and gave the impression the actor was scrawny. A scrawny Jason I CAN NOT abide by.

But I would be happy, SO happy if it turned out to be a true Friday 1 remake and the killer behind the mask was Mrs. Voorhees.

i hated the halloween remake as the halloween series had been the only series with some sense of continuity, although weak and often conflicting once they decided that H20 would pretend that Halloween 4-6 never happened.

I like the idea of remaking Friday the 13th because Jason can be done in an effective way. As long as Pamela Voorhees has at least some screentime in the movie, I approve. I like how they are combining elements from Friday 1, 2, and 3, so maybe we'll get the sack mask at the start before acquiring the hockey mask. And all I've read of it is that they wrote Jason as a Rambo like forest dweller. That being said, the movie is Friday the 13th and could easily suck...I wonder if Jason will be the physically disfigured adult under the mask or the zombie Jason face after he died in Part IV

yeah he wasn't a supernatural slow moving zombie-type character until part 6, and was even pretty clumsy in part 2. parts 2, 3, and 4 basically happen one after the other over the course of like a week, so this might just be a condensed version of those. but i doubt it. my guess is it will just have people come to the camp randomly and get killed by jason with only a minimal explanation of where he came from

So that's what that image I've been seeing of some girl floating in piss while Jason watches is all about.

fuck this. i'm so sick of remakes. not that the original friday the 13th was very good (though i like pt. 2 a lot) but fucking hell, the modern horror industry doesn't have an original bone in its body. i will not be seeing this.

Remake can only be better than jason x/freddy vs. jason

haha, freddy vs. jason is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. jason x was a travesty though.

it's a terrible film by actual horror standards, but there's no denying the entertainment value of jason x. it definitely falls into the 'so bad it's good' category.

I generally think horror re-makes are dumb, but especially in this case, because the originals were worthless in the first place. At least the first Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street movies are worthy of classic status. All Jason has is a unique look for a movie monster. He's never been an interesting character or been part of a good story. None of his movies were anything special. I wonder if people will be re-making Saw movies in 20 years. :nuh-uh:

You clearly fail to grasp what Jason has become.

It's not about being frightened (Myers) or grossed out (Freddy). It's about jumping up and cheering for barbaric slaughtering of idiotic teenagers.

They've been remaking horror movies since the silent era. Hell, the modern industry is positively restrained when it comes to remakes compared to the Hollywood of old.

Yeah remakes always come out. Fly, Body Snatchers, Village of the Damned, Blob, King Kong has at least 2 or 3...

Yep, and dont forget the Universal Monsters (The Wolfman, The Mummy, Invisible Man etc) they virtually had one of those coming out every year.
House On Haunted Hill and House Of Wax also got remade seemingly once a decade for a while.

Jason X is definitely bad, but to me it's as guilty of a pleasure as F vs. J. Same deal with TMNT III.

They'll probably still be making the damn sequels at this rate. The first one came out in 2004 and they're already up to number V, and the sixth is already in pre-production. I predict that they'll just keep doing one per year, like the Super Bowl.
