I'm pretty crazy about this band at the moment, but still rather new to them. I'm only familiar with Emergency & I and Changes but love both and am interested to hear some of their earlier work now. I know there are many fans here at NHC, as I remember E&I made it onto the top 100 albums list, plus their name has popped up a number of times in other, equally positive threads.
Of the two albums I have heard, I prefer E&I, but Changes is definitely a grower and I full expect it to about equal the other in my mind eventually. I'm not sure if I miss the more jarring, experimental moments with that one or not...it's fucking brilliant either way.
Any recommendations concerning Travis Morrison's solo work? I remember Pitchfork gave one of his records a 0.0, but they're hacks anyway.

the new travis morrison hellfighters is pretty quality, if unspectacular. but that's a given since he's never gonna do something like e&i ever again; you shouldn't draw comparisons or you'll be disappointed (obv)
also you need the dismemberment plan is terrified. tonight we mean it/the ice of boston are very very good tracks

Ice Of Boston has some great lyrics. Definitely need to pick Terrified up next...especially since I sort of prefer the band at their more energetic and unstable. However, I do think their best song is The City. Morrison's vocals are unbelievable in that track.

the whole second half of that album is energetic and amazing
I only have Emergency & I which is fucking awesome. Should get their other stuff

yeah "changes", and as mentioned ".. is terrified" are all essential. their other record "!" sorta sucks
his solo career is sort of tragic. youre better off following the other members' projects (martime)
on a short list of bands that i think should reunite

yeah i managed to see them twice. crazygood live, but i give a lot of that credit to the rhythm section
all ive heard about travis is that he has notoriously bad BO
and a giant PDA that he was obsessively checking when I saw their farewell tour.
