Hey, atleast the 40,000 or however many film reels that were burned had duplicates in another location. I'm looking on the bright side.

Actually the original courthouse square from BTTF was destroyed in the 1990 backlot fire.

They'll rebuild, but it is kind of sad that all of these classic sets got destroyed.

I don't see what the big deal is, universal studios has fires like every 40 minutes at the backdraft attraction

If I recall correctly, they rebuilt the first time since the courthouse was left standing. This time, the courthouse facade has been totally incinerated. Unless they are extremely desperate for it (Ghost Whisperer relies on it, so maybe), I doubt it will get rebuilt...
EDIT: Spoke too soon. Courthouse is still standing. So I guess it will get rebuilt after all...

The courthouse was not destroyed in todays fire, I believe it only recieved minor damage.

The iconic courthouse square from "Back to the Future" was destroyed, and the famous clock tower that enabled Michael J. Fox's character to travel through time was damaged, fire officials said.

All the films were backed up... so basically some fake wooden buildings burnt down & no one was hurt. OH NOES!

I hope every single one of those fucking films is lost forever. BURNED. GONE. KAPUT.
Hollywood has been running out of ideas since the 80s. Time to start fresh.

Well, I'm glad they have backups of the films and that the Clocktower itself was saved.
It sucks that now the tram tour is messed up, though, because that is a pretty awesome tour.
