holy fuck, i just watched michael clayton last night and was (not very seriously, but still) thinking about making a sydney pollack appreciation thread. no joke. dude was such a fine actor. he always brought an intensity to his roles that made them seem so genuine and real. i thought his performance in husbands and wives was oscar-worthy. wasn't a huge fan of him as a director, though tootsie and they shoot horses don't they? were great. RIP

Yeah he was great in Michael Clayton (and in those commercials in front of the movie in the theater) and he seemed so...alive. This is kinda unexpected. How did he die?
