No, it's the 1001st.
C4 will start repeating S2 again on Thursday. I think they will go through all the seasons they currently have the rights to again, then will get S1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 later in the year.

I can't get enough of S2, S3 or S4 so it'll be great to see those again.
It's pretty ironic, btw, that the 6pm repeats are gaining more viewers than the 9pm friday shows - the friday evening episodes are getting an average of about 2.3 million, while the 6pm airings are consistently getting 3 million.

1000th reply, though, as homer228's original post is counted as #1, then the first reply as #2, then the second as #3, and so on ad infinitum.
But yeah, it seems likely enough they'll repeat S2-6 (I insist they are about to get the rights to it!) and possibly S11-12 when they're done in the Fridays at 9 slot, then get different seasons in November - and they'd probably keep S11-12 then, as Sky will be in no rush to buy back the worst of the Scully years

I was really annoyed - that C4 bitch kept blabbering over the excellent song at the end of Lady Bouvier's Lover and the screen was squashed. Would it have been too much to ask to do that after the show has ended? I personally don't give a damn about what's happening on Hollyoaks.

Well, in answer to Butters' question, I've been missing most of Season Five on C4 deliberately just so that watching the episodes on DVD in clear picture and sound is made much sweeter. Buy the DVD, you'll feel better for knowing that you waited. Plus, FOX gets your money and can invest it back into the show. You know it makes perfect sense.

Got some bad news and some good news. Bad news first:
Chances of my site re-opening : 3/10.
The past year, my interest in the site constantly differed. For the upmost part it was rather enjoyable, but over the past months it was dull for a long time. If you remember that random gap from May to October, the site was pretty much dead then, required very little updates, and those 5 months cost me £50. Which to me is a lot of money.
Generally, that doesn't bother me, but I can't help feel my host is ripping me off. My package is supposed to come with 1000 mb (?) space and 10 gb monthly transfer. I've got 62mb space and 2 gb monthly transfer. I've been too late to renew my domain name, so if the site does come back, expect it at a new URL (looking into www.simpsonscuts.co.uk or any better suggestions?). Chances are, I'm going to end up paying double, as Lycos decided not to inform me my package was no longer renewable, and I tried renewing it again. So, that's going to be a whooping £120 (which is like a life's wage to me).
Even if the site does come back at a new URL, I've lost all the multimedia content, but I've luckily got the lists saved to my computer. So, if the site does re-open it'll be mainly text based again. (:()
Earlier this year Wezzo started updating, and then eventually our "beloved" homer228. Wezzo made a few updates in August, and homer228 made a couple of reminders in October. You two should probably know if the site does re-opening, chances are that you can still be part of it are pretty much the same as the site re-opening.
Lately, it's been a chore to update my site and the lack of anything really decent has been a bitch. I whipped up the "Images" and "Wallpapers" page so I'd easily have something to update about, but even that has become a chore. (granted, I have a fair share of them to update with now).
No matter what, I'll still maintain the three lists somewhere. Even if it's on GeoStreeties (:(). But, just don't expect such a great site coming back. (there's like a 1/10 chance that'll be as good). The decision on what is happening will be made March 26th, when it'll become clear if Lycos has officially "cleaned it's plate" of my domain/package. If anyone (looking at you Nameless) notices if any pages are working, contact me.

Is that some kind of subtle attack? Okay, my site may have "borrowed" some information, and table lay-out, from the "Snipsons" project, but was far more sophisticated and up-to-date than that site was ever...
www.censoredsimpsons.co.uk would be a good one, but I get enough URL refers for Simpsons porn, anyway... don't need anymore... (and it's probably those perverts who got my site into this mess in the first place).

That totally sucks, dude, you had a great site there! Surely all the content must still be on the servers of your host, even though the domain name has expired? (And why didn't you have it on your computer anyway?...never get why people upload stuff then delete it off their pc...).
Hosting: Simpson Crazy might be able to host you! If you get a new domain it can be redirected to the sc address. You'll have to ask Ben (mrburns@simpsoncrazy.com) since he owns the servers and stuff, but I'm sure he'll be happy to host you.
If you've decided you don't want to continue with the site, I'd be more than happy to take on your lists at Simpson Crazy and (hopefully) keep them updated - I've always loved your pages. That'd be a last resort though, you should stick with it!

It depends what you define as "brand new", doesn't it? By no means are Season 11 episodes brand new, even when they were on the BBC. Even the so-called new episodes on Sky aren't new since they will have aired several weeks before in the U.S. Season 11 is brand new to Channel 4, and TBH it doesn't really matter what they call them: they're still old Simpsons episodes.

Replying to a bunch of posts from page 36:
Site - Still looking for a domain name, too much is going on in my life at the moment to rush to get one. Although, the site will most likely return in some form. I'm trying to get www.simpsorama.co.uk at the moment. When my site returns I will post to inform you.
THOH Cut - Well, it seems that C4 must've only found problem with the flashes midway through their first showings of S2-S5. So, now we've got to look out for flashing cuts in S2 and S3. THOH II will probably be slowed down, too... any other candidates? Brother Can You Spare Me Two Dimes 2001 parody? What about the camera flashes when Mr. Burns ate Blinky in Two Cars In Every Garage, Three Eyes On Every Fish? I missed that episode (and just about every other on C4)...
New Episodes on Sky - To be honest, I've completely lost track of every episode this season. I've really started thinking the show has went downhill (not as bad as Scully, just really boring). I used to rush to download new episodes, but it took me two weeks to watch There's Something About Marrying, and I have still to see Goo Goo Gai Pan.
I thought my season 2 DVD was faulty because of the poor quality of Bart vs Thanksgiving but it was the same on C4 yesterday. Anyone else notice this?

When they get "copies" of episodes, what kind of source do they get them from? VHS? DVD? Or whatever? If VHS, there's a chance FOX could have just given them a version extracted from an old version of the Season 2 VHS set

I'm sure they at leasy used to, a friend of mine went on a tour of the channel 4 studio, for some reason there was a vhs tape of that brilliant forgotten mockumentary 'Boyz Unlimited' It might be why its never been repeated. and I'm sure a few here a bit young to remember it.
But you can tell it was used for broadcasting because it has that counting down clock thing before it starts (I don't know if you know what I mean and If I can explain it any clearer) and its got about 30 seconds of blank instead of advert breaks.

how long was it when the Channel 4 and Sky One Decided to show the episode "The Cartridge Family"
The rights to S9 are currently with Sky One, so until C4 buys them, we won't know if C4 will air it or ban it. The same goes for The City of New York Vs Homer Simpson, which was banned by BBC2 and IS banned by Sky One.
We'll also not know if C4 ever air Weekend at Burnsie's prior to the 9pm watershed, until (sometime this year probably) S13 is passed over to C4.

Why was catridge family banned, was it to do with the dunblane tragedy, surely its been long enough now. Or is it offensive for containing discussion on handguns.

03-22-2005, 04:14 AM
I don't think it was particularly to do with Dunblane, though it might have had some impact. Yeah, basically as far as I have ever understood the situation, they simply wouldn't show it because of the episode's theme.

Just really foolishness with firearms, despite the fact that they let episodes like THOHXIII and Poppa's Got A Brand New Badge air all the time.
And C4 definitely won't play Burnsie's prior to the watershed.
Why do Sky One edit out the "We'll be right back" line from Guess Who's Coming To Criticise Dinner? Surely it would make more sense to put the ads after the 2nd act instead of after the 1st act. Do Sky have some sort of policy to always put ads after the first act? You'd think they'd decide on an episode by episode basis depending on which is most relevant. I didn't see the C4 airings of this episode, what happened in their version?

They cut to ads after Act One, but leave "right back" intact.
Sky remove the line so they don't seem stupid, but it makes them look stupid anyway. Same with Behind the Laughter.

FWIW guys, from June Sky One schedules seeing as SPI is officially only going to provide timeslots for the monthly schedules (as they have started to recently) I probably won't bother covering them unless something significant is airing; there's little point knowing what time episodes air if you don't know the title. So after May's schedules being posted this weekend - probably tomorrow (along with those C4 corrections), there'll be no more "by-month" Sky listings.
Have a great Easter, everyone. :)

I've spoken to Wezzo and starting from June, he will provide Sky listings 4 weeks in advance instead of 6 weeks, and highlights for 6 weeks, since only timeslots are available after 4 weeks.
Wezzo
03-25-2005, 12:02 PM
Not quite..
The latest UK update (online v. soon) explains it better:
Sky One listings are now available up to the 23rd April, whereas preliminary slots are available up until the end of May. As many of you have noticed, this has been the norm in recent months; Sky have now officially announced that from June onwards, episodic details will only be announced 4 weeks in advance, although timeslots will remain confirmed six weeks ahead of the start of the relevant month. Due to this, from June schedules onwards, I will only cover Sky a month in advance as there is little point of covering slot details sans episode details. This is of course barring major Simpson events, which will probably be covered in this blurb.
Edit: Damn, homer228 beat me to it. :)

Correcting Wezzo's mistakes on the SNPP page;
C4 are airing When Flanders Failed now on Saturday 2 April at 20:40
C4 are airing Lisa's Pony Friday 8 April in the usual timeslot, so THOHII on Thursday, etc.
A double-bill of S11 airs Friday 8; the second isn't listed.
Also, on Sky;
GABF06, "Goo Goo Gai Pan" airs on Sunday 1st May at 6:30pm.
GABF08, "The Seven Beer Snitch" airs on Sunday 8th May at 6:30pm.
GABF07, "Mobile Homer" airs on Sunday 15th May at 6:30pm.
GABF05, "On A Clear Day I Can't See My Sister" airs on Sunday 22nd May at 6:30pm.
GABF04, "There's Something About Marrying" airs on Sunday 29th May at 6:30pm.
Hmm, 5 new eps in May. A bad move perhaps, as this means unless a total drought of new eps follows like with S15, S16's end and S17's start will have bigger gaps...
Simpsons Forever!
03-26-2005, 12:50 AM
Why so many in May? That must mean a Summer "drought." Although, because so many air in the USA in May, Sky could still show 2 episodes a month until S17 starts in November.
I've just noticed that they are repeating the new episodes a few days after they first air, too. Excellent news!

Hopefully they will keep the episodes going that consistently through june to the 31st of july which would be the finale if there's 23 episodes. Well, then it would be a pretty pointless thread, it's all we seem to discuss here, that and the once-in-a-blue-moon "new episode on Sky". Which that discussion also has quite a lot of "when does it air" and "what lines get cut out" discussion.
Oh, yeah, another thing we get in this thread is pointless posts from me.

It won't:
1) Channel 4 are doing very well with the show, and they paid a lot of money for it - they aren't giving it up.
2) BBC2 gave it up because it was too much for something only getting 2-3 million viewers.

Consistent 3 million, IIRC, making it pretty much BBC's most popular show, and they lost the bidding war.

Probably not, as I'm guessing a September release for S6 UK DVD (probably wrong on this), and if they're going to get the rights, which I remain confident they will do, they'd show it before that.

Sounds a sucky idea to me! I'd expect more people to rush to the shops if they hadn't seen the episodes in a while. For example I can see Season 9 selling really well because of people's exitement at the oppertunity to watch The City Of New York vs Homer Simpson and The Cartridge Family after so long off TV.

Only the fan buyer, though, probably not the casual.
And the fan buyer will rush to buy them anyway even if they've seen the episodes recently for the commentaries and special features.
I suppose you're right that only nerds like us would realise which episodes hadn't been on for ages and which are actually on the DVD's and we're the people who preorder them as soon as the release date is announced.

Just an impersonator answering questions under the name of Homer in the live chat, I should presume - I very much doubt they could get Dan or Matt Selman (who registered Homer's e-mail from The Dad Who Knew Too Little) to answer the fans.

What we should do is ask really stupid questions, not smart ones, like "Why does Homer have two feet?", "Was there an episode that was entirely animated by the taliban in September 2001?", "Is there really a trilogy of episodes where Homer is animated to look like John Travolta and is voiced by Fred Savage?" and "Is it true that the movie 2001 Space Odyssey is based off Homer's dream in Lisa's Pony?".
I'll try and save you from embarrassing yourself, Professor Frink, these are INTENTIONALLY stupid and incorrect...

you should have seen most the questions put through though, eg what is homers breast size.
I asked "Do you agree the show declined in quality when Scully was Executive Producer?", it was never submitted to Al :(
Shame really, because it would've been good.
Does anyone else find it ironic that the Channel 4 webchat was with Al Jean, who was Executive Producer after S13, meaning that (except a few of the Classic era episodes before S5) most C4 episodes aren't Jean episodes...no?
