I was hooked play RE4 so easily choice for me.

I played mario 3 on GBA the other day and i realized I kind of suck balls at it, which is weird, i don't suck at all the other mario games.

i'll go with RE4. not just because I would rather see more variety in the final rounds, but i really like RE4, plus I always had a crush on Ashley *sigh*

For me, this really isn't much of a contest. RE4 is everything you would want from a third person shooter and a lot more.

The only Mario games that I might vote over Resident Evil 4 are Yoshi's Island and Super Mario 64.

Talk about old vs. new. But I ended up choosing Super Mario Brothers 3.

Both games are at the top of their respective series (even if RE4 is barely recognizable as a RE title at times), both being lengthy campaigns filled with fun secrets. But the experiences I had playing SMB3 are some of my most treasured up to this day. Walking through that final hall to Bowser's room was one of the most tense and frightening sequences of my childhood gaming life (ironic to say that in a bracket up against Resident Evil), and the ending joke was so funny and caught us completely off guard that I still look back on it and laugh.

Mario 3 is what got me into gaming, and will always be my favorite of all time.
My roomate actually got Resident Evil 4 for the Wii last night, I played it for a while, but wasn't that impressed.

I'm dissapointed that I succumbed to the less plentiful game logic. You know - "there's already a few Mario games on there so blah blah blah."

However, Resident Evil 4 was damn fine, despite what I said earlier when it was against Banjo-Kazooie (Although relative to BK, all that stuff is true), so whatever, I voted RE4.

I'll be really disappointed at this group if RE4 wins this. It is a good game, a great game even, but this is Mario 3. The #1 game on the NES, and surpassed by few others since. I don't care for any claim that there are too many mario games; maybe there are, but this one is the best.

It's close for me, but the village segment of RE4 (plus some of the extras) pushes it just slightly ahead of Mario 3 for me. Even though voting for any Resident Evil game makes me feel kinda dirty really.
