I propose that the next video game tournament be one about video game levels, but I'm starting to think it's a silly idea. What do you guys think?

Here are mine:

Banjo Kazooie: Click Clock Wood
Half Life 2: Follow Freeman
Resident Evil 4: 5-3 (Krauser knife fight)
Metroid Prime: Phendrana Drifts
Zelda: OoT: Spirit Temple
Metroid Prime 2: Sky Sanctuary

Neb will kiss you for the first pick.

Well. I wouldn't be opposed to a levels/missions kind of thing. At some point after the Audio Showdown and the Best Game ends, we're going to do a video game music tournament for sure. But after that ends, no idea what we're going to do. We can hold another tournament of some sort so long as the support is there but there may need to be a small break so people don't get burnt out.

If we do another "Best Game of All Time" tournament it'll probably late next year or early the following year. Well, we'll figure it out.

But for the topic at hand...I will think of some of my favorite levels ever..having a brain fart :O

For starters, the Maze of Memories/Moonlight Museum from Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. A huge visual treat with some excellent puzzles and story progressions to boot.

Yeah I second that one.

Facility from GoldenEye
School II from THPS2
Hawai`i from THUG for the frightening amount of accuracy ;)
Big Snowman from Snowboard Kids
Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64
City of Vilcabamba and St. Francis' Folly from Tomb Raider
Tanker from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2
That cool nightclub level from Perfect Dark Zero
Hospital from Silent Hill

I'll think of moar. One is escaping my mind right now and it's driving me crazy, goddamn it.

Backstabbing Bastard from Max Payne
Presidential Palace from Splinter Cell
Los Angeles from Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Bathhouse from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Barrels O'Fun from Doom 2
Hell from Doom 3

I haven't played the original Half-Life in a while but I'm sure something from there belongs in here. I'm trying to think of Mario or DKC levels but nothing in particular comes to mind.

Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64.
Oh, you've reminded me of that wonderful Waluigi Pinball track in Mario Kart DS. It's a damn shame they didn't put that one online.

Not exactly sure how this would work as a tournament. Though as an exercise in list making, I'm all for it.

Some of these seem like stretches of the term "level". Then again, if MGS locations are being included as well as whole time periods from Chrono Trigger, it should still work.

Earthbound - Fourside/Moonside
Final Fantasy VI - The Opera
Grim Fandango - Year 2
Heroes of Might and Magic 2 - Country Lords
Metal Gear Solid 3 - The Sorrow
Resident Evil 4 - Stage 2-2 (Specifically when trapped in the house)
Silent Hill - Nowhere
Silent Hill 2 - Prison
Siren - The First School Stage
Super Metroid - Second Part of Norfair
Zelda: Majora's Mask - Stone Tower

This is tough, but here goes:

Earthbound - Saturn Valley (Excellent speech font)
A Link to the Past - Turtle Rock (Love those moving platforms)
Super Mario 64 - Tiny-Huge Island (Two levels in one)
Resident Evil 2 - Opening streets and gun shop (Pure adrenaline)
Legend of Zelda - Level 7 (Grumble, Grumble....)
Chrono Trigger - Magus's Castle (Traps, illusions, four bosses, what more could you want?)

And of course, the greatest of them all...

Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest - Dracula's Castle (No no, I'm kidding about this one!)

All these Splinter Cell levels and no mention of The Abattoir? One of my favorite curve balls ever.

Also that train stage was great.

That one is great but Presidential Palace is better. I also like the CIA mission better. The most memorable part of Abattoir was the minefield where you have to use thermal and the part where you kill Grinko (think that's his name) and control the turrets.

2 and 3 had a lot of memorable levels to me. Small as they were compared to the newer games, I thought they were all awesome settings. Definitely agree about the airport. Venice Beach is another I would've said for 2. And I agree on Alcatraz as well. Definitely my fave level from 4.

Hmm, could it be...

I've had quite a few Siren-related nightmares of desperate not wanting Shibito to see me. Cheers for having a 10-year old kid as one of your protagonists, though. Her level in the house is probably the best one ever.[/jibber jabber blah blah long post] (http://www.nohomers.net/showthread.php?p=1453509#post1453509)
