Pokemon Red & Blue (GB)

vs.

Tetris (multi-platform)

I love Tetris, I love its timeless, enduring quality, I love its simplicity and its addictiveness. However, for all of that, Pokemon (for me) offers that and so much more. It's a case of totally different genres and eras, yes, but Pokemon offered a gameplaying experience far more detailed and engrossing than Tetris could ever offer, and gave me addictiveness and timeless quality to boot. In addition, there's the fact that Pokemon was a cultural event, and I would feel wrong to kick Pokemon out of the tournament in place of Tetris, given how utterly important Pokemon was in my life.

Tough, but I'll give it to Pokemon.

I hate to vote against a game that I've enjoyed and played as much as Pokemon, but Tetris gets my vote here. It's so legendary, and it's stood the test of time over the years and over all these different platforms. Almost everyone has heard of both of these games, but I think the difference is that almost everyone who has heard of Tetris also knows how to play it. Too very infamous games, but I think Tetris has just a little bit more.

Tetris is an eternal game. It'll never get old. The Pokemon fad has arguably died down increasingly since this game. Its a no brainer.

Yes Red and Blue are good games on their own merit as well and quite a bit more eventful than Tetris, but even by now the basic gameplay mechanic of later Pokemon games has improved so going by place in history alone its trumped. I admit I haven't played later versions of Pokemon but while Tetris should probably lose the next one as history can only go so far I think it should win this.

Tetris is definitely the better of the two by a wide margin.

There are heroes and legends. Heroes (Red & Blue) get remembered, but legends (Tetris) never die. Yeah, I watched The Sandlot earlier today :-$

I missed the Tetris on the GB craze, but was around shortly after R/B released. I'm going to have to go that way.

this is kinda like if people were comparing some alternative reality game to checkers, and checkers was barely inching a lead.

aw hell they're both incredible

but it's gotta be tetris

This choice was so much easier than Pac-Man vs. Tetris.

I love R/B but I can barely play it for one hour straight. Tetris is just neverending enjoyment.

Teteris is a rgeat game and whenever the chance comes around I will play it, but the pokemon games on Gameboy were just amazing. They're what had me glued to my Gameboy and unable to put it down. I've never played the new ones on DS or whatever but I'm sure thy can never compare with the old classics.

I dunno,Diamond and Pearl are meant to be pretty decent.

Anyway,Poemon easily.Original, addictive, exciting, just amazing.Though I always felt it was sort of a rip-off that you have to buy two games to get all the pokemon.

Pokemon Red (or Blue, I had Red) was excellent for its time, and is still pretty playable today - but up against the behemoth that is the legendary Tetris, there's only one winner, and it ain't got no yellow mice in it. As far as I know, anyhow. >.>
