had to go with Kirby, MM is just one of the weaker titles in the LOZ franchise

I had to go with Zelda this time. I don't like the Kirby games that much.

Hey
Hey
Show a little RESPECK to one of the finest SNES games ever made thx.
That said, Majora is the best Zelda, and wins pretty easily though.

Majora's is cool but Kirby Super Star -is- Kirby. The series has never been able to outdo itself with this game, it was that perfect. Yes its challenge is questionable but not much more so than most Nintendo games really.
Unfortunatly its not going to win this, but its getting my vote definitely. Its one of the most well balanced game experiences I've personally ever played, and one of the top 5 SNES games.

Too many Zelda games, and I disagree that Majora is the best Zelda ever. Kirby gets the vote here.

One is great and the other is greater, pretty much sums this one up. Go go MM.

I'm (more or less) with SubSane here. Kirby has always been Nintendo's B franchise, and Super Star is no exception IMO. Its "8 games in one" slogan is a slight mislead, as half the games can be beaten in mere minutes and a good chunk of them are simple mini-games that barely even qualify as distractions. Not to mention that, aside from maybe the Great Cave Offensive, the differences between the main 5 platforming games are largely cosmetic (this one has a time limit, this one stores your powers in a menu, these two have an overworld to select the levels while the other games don't, etc), as they all play the same with the same powers, same enemies, and in a few cases the same bosses. It's not bad or anything, just very meh all around really.
Majora's Mask is not just merely a shakeup of Zelda conventions; in storytelling and character depth it is rivaled by very few games across the medium, let alone the Zelda series (Wind Waker is the only other Zelda to come even remotely close in this regard). Its melding of a light childhood friendship tale with an earnestly dark story of the apocalypse, characters where you can actually both impact their lives in multiple ways, for good or for misery, and actually watch them from their (comparatively) care free start to their trembling, fearful end, with merely the Ocarina of Time game engine behind it is still a triumph of game design. Not a contest here.

I went with Kirby Super Star, but I like both games and either one would be a fine choice for me. Kirby hasn't always got the best games on his resume, but here everything clicked so perfectly. The challenge and learning curve was perfect; from the easy but fun Dreamland or Race levels, to the challenging but deep treasure hunt, to the addictive but simple mini-games, there was something here no matter what mood you were in. The graphics were colorful, fun, and full of personality as usual, and the many abilities and two-player action gave plenty of replay value.
As much as I like Majora's Mask, it's just not quite enough for me. It's good and I liked how it went away from the same old thing, but it's pretty much an above-average entry in the greatest gaming series ever. Super Star is the best entry in an above-average series, so it's not an easy choice, but I did go with that little pink puff.
