Super Metroid is one of the greatest Metroid games ever made and one of the greatest SNES games ever. On the other hand, I like Mario 2 a lot (even though it is a ripoff of Doki Doki Panic) because I love picking up veggies and throwing them at birdos, plus it was the first game you got to play as Toad. I'll have to go with Super Metroid on this one.

Another Mario game? As much as I love the series, this is getting silly. Still it gets my vote, I've never played Super Metroid, but it looks like a lot of fun. I hear they're putting it on the Wii's virtual console.

If a game that wasn't even originally a Mario game beats Super Metroid I won't know what to think of any of you.

Everyone should play Super Metroid. Hell if you can't buy it find a way to play it illegally even. Its that big a deal.

Yeah, this is one Mario game match-up I have no qualms with voting against our favorite plumber in. Super Mario 2 was colorful, unique, and nostalgic, but let's face it, there are few games on the Super NES that pulled off the grand size, terrific exploration elements, great challenge, and impressive graphics that Super Metroid did. I might even go so far as to say it's the best Metroid game out there, yes, better than Metroid Prime. Two classic Nintendo series here, but one entry is arguably the best, while the other is arguably the worst.

Yeah, Super Metroid is too great of a game to get voted off by one of the weaker mario titles, SMB2 is still a good game, but the better games in the series have already passed through

Mario 2 is actually probably my favorite of the NES Marios, but Super Metroid is the greatest SNES game ever.

I guess we've all got to remember to put a few Mario games through. It'd be pretty tragic to see zero Mario games in the final few rounds, simply because people were sick of seeing the name 'Mario' pop up too often. I fear that. :(
