All the major pro sports in North America have player unions. What about the coaches? I think if the players have unions, the coaches should as well.
Many head coaches make less than some of their players. Yet, when the players underperform, the coach is the one to go. I have seen situations where teams underperformed due to injuries. But the coach got the axe anyways. I don't think that should be grounds for dismissal. Of course one could argue that its the coachs job to rally the second stringers to perform like first stringers in that situation. Whatever...
Am I way off-based here, or does that make sense? Coaches Union: Yay or nay?
