they are the most dysfunctional pathetic waste of talent life i have ever seen.that sounds like what i should use to describe eagles fans from now on.
i don't see some massive blowout for the eagles like people want to say. the giants aren't the media-hyped massive wasteland that people want to make them out to be for the sake of higher ratings, and the eagles aren't exactly a dominant powerhouse helmed by the best QB in the NFL, either. they were a sub-.500 team before a late season surge that could very easily swing back around. i don't see either team winning big. i don't want to flat out pick the giants, but i don't get the unanimous eagle voting either.

as furious as i am that runyan was somehow capable of getting away with murder in the second quarter, and it giving the eagles a touchdown, it wasn't the only thing that cost them. i'm just glad it was a good game and the giants played well for the most part and didn't romo-up the end of the game.

kuumuus
01-07-2007, 07:54 PM
what, who's fishing for attention? me? tiki? make sense
tiki had 5 great seasons, 2 good seasons, and that's it. plus he used to fumble a lot. that to me isn't good enough. there's no doubt in my mind that if he played a few more seasons he'd be a first ballot hall of famer, but right now i don't think he's done enough. great player with hallworthy talent, just walked away too early.

Spartan
01-07-2007, 10:29 PM
i'll try to get over you invariably starting a discussion about tiki's debate into the hall...still five years away...and a rather petty remark about his brother having a ring but no potential claim to that hall. all this just hours after an undoubted fine career.
sounds like philly to me.
Dead Nigga Storage
01-08-2007, 12:46 AM
dude. don't pretend you know a damn thing about what i was trying to get at. kevin made a joke belittling tiki for no ring, i said a hall of fame claim would out-do that. not that tiki was a sure fire lock for the hall, not a recitation of his career stats, just a fucking joke...made into a very, very obvious joke by the fact that i pretty much made the entire post into a chance to laugh at romo. i didn't start shit in the way of a convo, some one else did. not my problem, not my intention.

I wouldn't say the games were good...teams playing sloppy football but keeping the score close doesn't constitute a quality game. I did enjoy watching tiki play though.
if rivers wins a super bowl this season...after what ben did last year, its clear who the #3 qb in that class was. this all depends on rivers playing some quality playoff football.
Dead Nigga Storage
01-08-2007, 12:31 PM
it wasn't just close scores, it was stingy defenses that bent, but didn't break (until the end), it was last minute touchdown drives to tie games, and last second field goals that either did (or didn't) win games. it was certainly better than a 3TD victory in one AFC game, and a total non-show for larry johnson and 3 picks for manning in another 15 point win.
DAntae
01-08-2007, 12:35 PM
it was bad route running, poor pass protetction, and a little of what you said.
Dead Nigga Storage
01-08-2007, 12:39 PM
yeah, i saw the games...but if anyone (besides colts/pats fans) thinks the AFC games were better this week, they didn't watch. l.j.'s poor game was a lot of his own doing. i saw holes on a few plays that he just didn't break through. the NFC games had moments of being rather sloppy, but as a whole, they are just much more watchable, because they just never had the one-sided feeling of the other games. even when the jets were winning, it didn't feel like it.
DAntae
01-08-2007, 12:49 PM
afc games were just the usual better team wins game. nfc was far more balanced. also burress finally played well in a big game...what does he think he is doing?
Dead Nigga Storage
01-08-2007, 02:47 PM
burress, toomer, AND manning...shockey was pretty gutsy that game, too. watching him TRYING to find someone to hit him after he lost his helmet, and then making a jumping catch on the next play with a gimpy ankle was pretty cool. bad play calling, the runyan thing, and not taking advantage of opportunities was the downfall. i think the giants actually played a better game, too bad that's not in the score. when barber ran to the 3 yard line on the 41 yard carry, they should have just taken 3 running shots at the endzone...not the two pass attempts. fuck that.

wisenhunt because he's younger and ben loves him
steelers oline was a liability this year, dont see how grimm should get rewarded. really, i'd like a defensive coach though
DAntae
01-09-2007, 12:01 PM
cause grimm is the shit. I kid. I understand why wisenhunt makes sense. aside from the o-line having a few struggles, grimm typically has shit organized and gets the most out of his unit. either way, cowher left with good people ready to take over.

i like how the only two people that voted for the bears are chicago guys and the only two people that voted for the hawks are seattle guys. worst game of the weekend for sure. right now you could pick any team from the afc and any team from the nfc to make it to the super bowl and it wouldn't be shocking. now if the nfc won, on the other hand...

i'd be pretty surprised if the eagles made it. they looked like they were returning to earth last week, they got away with a few things in the game that could have turned it, new orleans is a much tougher opponent, and lito sheppard won't be available to stop drew brees' passing game.

interesting fact: an nfc south team has been in the conference championship every season since the 2002 realignment, with all 4 teams making it at least once (the panthers have been there twice). the only division that hasn't seen one of its teams reach a conference championship since then is the nfc north.

Here's hoping they pull it off in OT.

Well... at least there's no one to blame but ourselves this year, we gave it up (not to say that the Bears didn't earn it, they did)... there is no controversy on ref'ing... no accidental miracle to blame it on... just our inability to hold a lead, convert on 3rd downs, and make plays when they fucking matter.
I hope some shit gets shaken up this off season.

Fuck. I was totally on edge with this game. I honestly didn't think we'd pull it off, but Gould and the D came through at the last minute. So yeah, 2-0 against the Seahawks this year... stoked for the Bears win, but the 'Hawks were a formidable opponent and I like Alexander. Good game, and [see custom title]... first time at home since '91. About time.
Bring on the dome team! and still please be gentle

apparently, if they do win the super bowl no one here will give them credit anyway. oh well.
You make it sound like the Bears would be able to win the Super Bowl by simply raping a small puppy and nothing else.

well, short of a super bowl title brent, what HAVE the bears done to prove themselves this year? was it their resounding victory over the 49ers that was supposed to sell me? or maybe the one over the bills? maybe the lions?

I have a feeling it might be a bit closer, maybe Saints-20, Bears-16. Hopefully the Saints with their strong offense and defense will come out victorious. But I wouldn't drop my jaw if the Bears won.

that wasn't what i was getting at, andy. i'm just saying IF they win ( let alone the NFC game, which is already risky) I can't see anyone here not trying to pick apart their whole season and potential playoff success

best part of bears is their defense...said defense has played significantly below what it did the first 10 games. injuries have hurt them. unless that defense plays like it did earlier I dont see them making the super bowl, let alone winning it. when you win 13 games not much people can say to bring your team down, unless its scott saying it. I love his bear bashing.
It's not bashing as much as it is using statistics and evidence to find the truth. And I agree with DNS' points.
The Bears got to 13 wins by just barely winning many of those games, including Sunday's. Hell, I'll take it if they win the Super Bowl (and of course, that's a huge if right now), but they're probably the weakest of the final four right now. :-X

First of all, I wanna congratulate the Saints on a great year they had. Going from 3-13 one year to making the NFC title game the next... that's not a good year, that's a great year. And I totally would have rooted for them if the Bears had not made it that far.
That said... I've probably never been happier for a Chicago sports team, ever. I was seriously beginning to doubt this team. Sure, Rex isn't the best QB. Sure, the defense has been hurt by injuries. But when the year's on the line, they get the job done. And they did it today.
And from the looks of this AFC game, it just might be a Super Bowl XX rematch.
:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:
PS: Also completely glad the Bears put up, so I don't have to shut up... for now. :-X
