While I still strongly disagree with that ridiculous sportswriter/NBA player column, I think he levels very fair criticism at Whitlock. I think most people agree with Whitlock's main points, but I do think he got too personal, and if everything Scoop says about contacting Whitlock and trying to start a dialogue is true, then that's really weak sauce on Whitlock's part.
